Question about Apple iPod nano

Headphones not playing in iPod

I've had my iPod nano for 3 years now, and I recently passed it on to my sister, it just sat there and collected dust, but now that we've started using it, the left headphones/ear buds ect. won't play. It isn't the headphones itself because we've bought countless headphones, we think its the iPod itself, but what? and where can we get it fixed?

I transferred music to my mp4, however I cannot hear it when it plays. I know it was transferred correctly, but the music bar moves/plays but no sound is heard. My headphones are new.

Try a different set of headphones, if there is still no sound, check the volume limit on the iPod:
if that still does not help try resetting it by pressing the MENU and PLAY buttons simultaneously for a couple of seconds, I hope that did work. But, if it didn't, try doing the diagnostic in it to find out if it is a faulty jack: Hope it is just headphones!

When i plug my headphone in my ipod 5 genration it plays out loud

Try getting a can of compressed air to blow out the headphone jack sometimes dirt gets in there. Don't blow with just your mouth. If this works try keeping headphone jack covered so dirt doesn't get in there. Switcheasy makes doc and headphone port covers they come with their cases.

IPod not working in my music dock

Hi Natalie
Sounds like you're having logic board troubles. You need to take it to an ipod repair specialist to take a look at it. Sorry to bring the bad news. Chances are it's not a simple repair and will need a new logic board and they're not cheap:

If it's still less than a year old take it back to an apple store asap for a free replacement.

All the best

Nano shows song playing but nothing happens

Make sure your headphones are working properly by testing with your computer headphone jack.

Is the headphone port on the Nano loose?

Connect the Nano to your iPod dock and see if you can head audio through the docks headphone jack.

If the headphones work, and you can get audio out of the dock headphone port, then there is a problem with your Nanos headphone jack.

Headphones not playing in iPod

This is either cause by a damaged headphone socket in the iPod or a loose connection. The only way to solve it will involve opening the iPod case and inspecting the daughter board that the headphone socket is on.

Songs were erased and replaced

This isn't very much help i know but unforturnetly they''ve been replaced and you will not be able to get them back.

It's happened to me many of times it's horrible and fustrating all the hard work arganising them and one acksidental move can ruin everything.

Sorry my solution could not be much help.
