SOURCE: homelite 4618 saw won't idle , stays at 1/2

Try backing the idle speed screw off (CCW) with the engine running. The speed should come down as you turn it. If nothing happens, then probably debris is jamming the throttle mechanism (not inside the carburetor). If this works, set speed just below turning the chain.

SOURCE: homelite chainsaw engine rev to high

Check for an air leak between the carb and the engine. It has to be sucking air .

SOURCE: Homelite 10540 chainsaw 35CC chainsaw won't start when hot

Go to: http://www.drystacked com for a 12 page article on Walbro carburetor theory and troubleshooting. Check particularly, the position of the gasket in the lower chamber. Check the spark plug for blue, snappy spark when the engine is hot. If ok, place a small amount of fuel mix in the cylinder and try for start. If it pops several times, look to the fuel system. Check the fuel filter, air filter, and muffler for plugging. Does the primer bulb fill with fuel after several pumps? Check the fuel lines for decay or other damage. When the engine is hot, try not using the choke, but set the fast idle. Hope some of this helps!

I have a Homelite 45cc chainsaw that spits gas out of the carburetor intake. I have thoroughly cleaned out the carburetor. Also engine revs very high when it briefly turns on, then it dies.Any ideas

Carb needs some serious cleaning. Best to soak it in a dip for a day or so then remove, rinse, blow dry and reassemble. If that does not do the trick your only option is to replace it. Those things can be a royal PIA when they go bad.

What is th petrol and oil ratio for a homelite petrol chainsaw 33c- csp 3314

Generally you're looking at a 50:1 ratio on most chainsaws and I wouldn't see any reason the homelite should be any different. Usually it's one 2.5oz container of the oil mixture to one gallon of gasoline but check the label to be sure.
