I've downloaded the newest version of yahoo messenger, but am repeatedly recieving error reports, and have sent the 'report to windows' support several times. I am still unable to open, use or sign in to my messenger. HELP!!!!

Whats your operating system... if its vista then you might have to run it in compatibility mode... and/or as administrator... you can do this by uninstalling yahoo messenger and then before install right click on the file and select properties...

next turn off your firewall... just to see if thats an issue...

and go for it...

if this happening in windows 7 then do the same and if it keeps happening then you will have to wait for an update...

but my advice to you is this... if unable to run latest version of yahoo messenger... your best bet for the interim might be yahoo webmessenger...

Go to this link, it is for yahoo downloads. Just copy and paste into your browser. Download the newest internet explorer. This should help. What OS system are you using, and is your service pack up to date?

I would make sure that you have the lastest version of JAVA Script downloaded. If the problem continues, then I would let Yahoo know of the problem. I have had the same issue before and downloaded the latest version of JAVA and it worked fine, however some friends have had problems that persisted.

Yahoo Messenger has encountered a problem and needs to close

it sounds like you have a corrupted operating system or an infection, make sure you download your windows updates, do a full virus scan with counterspy from www.counterspy.com download www.ccleaner.com make sure it's ccleaner, also re download messenger from http://messenger.yahoo.com the current version should be 9.0.0.2112 if that doesn't help hold windows key then push r type in chkdsk c:/f/r on xp, if vista type cmd into the search bar right click it and run as administrator then type chkdsk c:/f/r that will fix the corruption on your hard drive for the most part. you'll probably still need to re download messenger again.

hi. uninstall yahoo messenger from your computer and reboot your pc. after sometimes (2 mins) reinstall another version of yahoo messenger on it. if you have a registry cleaner on your system run the cleaner after installation.
