Question about Acer Aspire 5100 Notebook

Cannot get a wireless connection anymore

My wireless connection used to work, but lately it started to randomly turn off and on again, and now it doesn't work at all anymore. I updated the driver, as the window diagnosis was that the athernet wirless adapter has driver problems. Still I cannot connect wireless.
The device manager says athernet is working okay. Could it be a compatability problem with Windows Vista?

Cannot connect to internet throught wireless networks. it used to show the networks available when it turned on but does not do this anymore i can connect through a cable running through the wireless...

This may be a really stupid response, but HPs (maybe only their tablets?) are notorious for randomly shutting down the wifi connection - I know it happens on my TouchSmart. Just as a precaution, check to see if the wireless LED is off or has turned red (on newer models it's at the top of the keyboard toward the right) and try to toggle it using either the hardware switch or Fn-key combo specific to your machine.

Hope this helps, as obvious and trivial as it may seem!

Our brother mfc-215C is not working and we can't find the cause. there's no lcd display. we had our internet connection reconfigured lately and when we tried using the printer it's not working anymore. do...

Yes, you have to reconfigure your printer... Go to settings, network settings, find the wireless network you are trying to connect to.... Be sure to have your password handy at this time.... Enter the password and allow 3 minutes for it to connect... Hope this works :) For the LCD Display, um check if the brightness is really low.... there might be a dead light or something that is wrong with the machine internally.... If it has been dropped, bumped, kicked these are all reason for it stop showing it's display... Hope this helps :)

Laptop will not connect to the internet anymore.

are you using wifi connection, I mean wireless connection or you're hooking up to a LAN network or through a modem connection?  If all this connection wouldn't worked out anymore, try reinstalling your Operating System!

I have the same problem and I tried everything and finally I realised it was one of the two ram modules installed. I took it out and it didnt turn off anymore.  But then I installed a 1gb ram module from my other laptop and the computer started shutting off whenever I connected the power adapter so I think it might be the wrong memory but taking the bad chip out solved the problem
