Question about Acer Aspire 5100 Notebook

1 Answer

Cannot get a wireless connection anymore

My wireless connection used to work, but lately it started to randomly turn off and on again, and now it doesn't work at all anymore. I updated the driver, as the window diagnosis was that the athernet wirless adapter has driver problems. Still I cannot connect wireless.
The device manager says athernet is working okay. Could it be a compatability problem with Windows Vista?

My wireless connections will not work! last night both lap tops and my daughters zip it were unable to establish a wireless connection. It happened once before about a month ago and were able to...

OK, to clarify.
Ethernet = modem?
Wireless box = router?
Do you have hardwire connection to router?
Check the wireless settings in router with hardwire connection.
Most routers use random channel search for wireless.
I usually set this for to use one channel only.
Stops random interference and connections.
FYI: Most routers are on 2.4ghz - same as cordless phones and some hand radios - the frequencies over lap sometimes - even though they aren't supposed to.
Microwaves will also disrupt signals.

E105-S1402 Will distell me there is no connectivy

try to restore it again and turn off automatic sounds to me that after a while it makes some changes that cause this to happen ....another issue is the firefox...lately it does that ...I mean it not connect with the servers ( some of them ) right the way try different browsers...also might just be something with your connection and loose some packets form time t time and in some points you just dont have a response also try your pc from another connection for a while ...and see how it works ...if it s doing the same from another location it means that it has some issues with the lan card or wlan after case...or just has a bug and needs reinatalling the way ,,, it might be from your wireless ...try it on cable to see how it works ....( from the same router if you have the lan option on it ...I mean if it isnt just wireless...It occurred to me that it may be some interference your area and cause this from time to time ...after all you said that its not a pattern ...but randomly ....Good luck !

Laptop will not connect to the internet anymore.

are you using wifi connection, I mean wireless connection or you're hooking up to a LAN network or through a modem connection?  If all this connection wouldn't worked out anymore, try reinstalling your Operating System!

Internet Explorer cannot display the web page

Have you installed any software firewalls lately, I know Norton has a habit of randomly blocking the internet.

Try disabling any firewall you may have and try again, if the internet surfing problem persists, try plugging in a wired connection and seeing if you can surf from there.

I have the same problem and I tried everything and finally I realised it was one of the two ram modules installed. I took it out and it didnt turn off anymore.  But then I installed a 1gb ram module from my other laptop and the computer started shutting off whenever I connected the power adapter so I think it might be the wrong memory but taking the bad chip out solved the problem
