If possible, attach analog and DVI cable together from one single graphics card.
Just to test your monitor is due to old age or component failure.

How to Degauss

Hello,

LCD flat panel monitors do not have or need a degauss function. The older CRT monitors had the degauss button to remove any magnetism that built up in the metal frame that would cause distortion. LCD monitors do not rely on magnetic fields so no degauss button. If your display is showing strange patterns and text the most likely cause is a bad video card. First try a different monitor on your card. I would bet the display is bad on it too. It you find this problem just replace your video card and the issue should go away.

TILT/SWIVEL & BACK COVER REMOVAL
1) Set the monitor face downward.2) Carefully remove the Tilt/Swivel by pulling it upward.3) Pressing the latch (b), Back cover by pushing it upward.4) Release the latch (c). (See Tip Spec.)5) Slide the Back Cover away from the Front Cabinet of the monitor.

When I switch the LG W2261V on I get the LG logo after the small circles (multicolor) in the middle of the screen with some Chinese/Korean characters. Impossible to have the correct display

small coloured circles means no signal being received by the monitor - the chinese/korean characters are saying 'check cable' !

My LG 21.5 inch monitor model W2261V, won't seem to come off power save mode, i was wondering if there is some way to reset the monitor?

this is not a monitor problem

first of all you can check when you pc start keyboard indication num lock appers

you can your CPU

i think it's ram problem

How do I Open / disassemble LG Flatron

Remove all the screws from the screen that you can, check for screws under all soft objects and labels, after all screws are removed, use a flat screwdriver or a case opener tool to start snapping the display cover open, it is hold in place with plastic clips, these will clip open but be carefull not to break any.

Power saving mode

Prevent the laptop/desktop monitor from going to power saving mode:

Click on Start | Control Panel | Power Options.

In the Power Option properties window, click on the Power Schemes Tab

Set the Turn off Monitor/ Turn off Hard Disks option when on Power (and also Battery for laptop users) to Never.

Now click on the Save as... button and assign a name to this power scheme... Let us call it 'Presentation' and then click on OK.

That's it congrats!

Open back cover of lg E700SH

there is a lock system to this monitor put crt front portion on table take a smallest screwdriver insert it into the narrow gap and pull the cover upperside it will open there are two gaps anyone you can try

Simcraft's link was great ! It has pictures showing the dismantling procedure, but the document is in Chinese and so is the web site where it is located. Please remember that some internal components can retain a dangerous charge of electricity for a few minutes after disconnection from the ac outlet. Wait at least 5 minutes before attempting the disassembly. Try to find the service manual for any other LG LCD in your language and read the safety procedures - they are pretty much the same for all models.
