further diagnoses indicates the pump motor is clog free. removed it completely from machine, no socks nothing inside, impeller is free of debris as well.

the pump ohms out at 15.9 ohms
the black wire going to the pump motor shows 39.5 volts.

still does not drain, have to clean out with shop vac each time. could this problem be a hot or cold water solenoid, or a sudsing switch or ?
ohm out the pressure swich perhaps?
it appears i will have to replace the bellows around the door. it is leaking as well.

    any suggestions would be appreciated.

'Infinity' as ohms reading for pump means it's broken - there is a break in windings.
You'll need a new pump, I think.

SOURCE: WASHER DOES NOT DO FINAL DRAIN AND SPIN. USUALLY

Hello.

There are several reasons that a washing machine won't drain or spin. The cause could be something as easy as a clog or something difficult that will need a licensed repairman. Start with the simplest possible cause and work
down to the more difficult causes.

BELOW ARE TOOLS AND INSTRUCTION THAT WILL HELP IN SOLVING THE PROBLEM.

1 A washing machine won't spin if the water can't drain. Check hoses for any kinks or clogs that may prevent the water from draining. If a hose has kinks, try to straighten out the kinked hose. If it can't be straighten sufficiently, replace the hose. If hoses are not kinked, check for clogged hoses. This can be done by using the screwdrivers to remove the hoses and looking for clogs or running a water hose through the clogged hose to remove the clog. Use the rags and bucket to clean up the water that comes out of the hoses when they are disconnected. Once the clog is cleared, put the drain hose back into place. The washer should drain and spin now if a clogged or kinked hose was the problem.

2 If the washer still won't drain or spin, check to see if the lid is not closing all the way or if the lid switch is not clicking into place. Close the lid and make sure that it closes all the way down. When the lid closes, the lid switch should click. If there is no clicking sound, then the switch may need to be replaced. Follow manufacturer's directions for replacing the switch. If the lid does not close all the way, visually check for signs that the lid is bent. If bent, try to bend it back into place.

3 Loose or broken belts could also prevent a washing machine from draining or spinning. Pull the washer away from the wall and, using the screwdrivers and wrenches, remove the back panel. Using the flashlight, visually check for any broken or loose belts. Replace any broken or loose belts. Although replacing washing machine belts is difficult, anyone who has replaced belts on a car, lawn mower or even a bicycle chain should be able to accomplish the task.

4 Another possibility for a washing machine to not spin or drain is the pump. With the back panel still off the washer, check the pump with the voltmeter to ensure that the pump is getting power. If the washer is getting power, turn on the washer and listen to find out if the pump is running but the water is still not draining. It may be necessary to remove the pump and clean it or to replace the pump with a new one. Once the pump is replaced, turn on the washer to determine if it will now drain and spin.

5 If all of the above steps fail to produce a washing machine that drains or spins, then it is time to call a professional repairman. Use the screwdrivers and wrenches to replace the panel on the washer and push it back against the wall.

Thanks.

It won't drain or sometimes it drains slow. The F2 code will appear or the Suds code will show up.

The drain filter is blocked and needs to be cleaned. Unplug the machine or disconnect power then remove the three screws attaching the bottom of the lower front access panel and pull the panel down and off. Once the panel is off, you'll find the drain filter attached to the drain pump.

jahn27_460.jpg

Place a container or a piece of towel
underneath the filter to catch spillage. You may need to drain the water from the machine by putting the end of the drain hose over a container on the floor. Position the container as low as possible to extract as much water.

Remove the filter by turning the knob counterclockwise and clean it.

Also take a moment to inspect the drain pump impeller by reaching it in with your finger and turning it. The impeller should turn freely. Otherwise, replace the drain pump.

Code 2f

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

F2 is a drain error in your washer, if the unit is unable to drain then after 4 minutes it will display suds and then F2. The first thing that should be done is cleaning the drain hose and the drain pump filter, you can take out three torx screws from the bottom front panel and then clean the area completely, lift up the cap to clean the filter. If the error returns then check the drain pump if it is not working then replacing the pump is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Won't finish cycle 21 F- flashing on panel

F21 error code is indicating that it is taking too long to drain water.

Your details indicate that you are using too much detergent or the wrong type of detergent and causing excessive suds. The drain pump can not pump suds out. The washer requires HE (High Efficiency) detergent formulated for front loading washers.

Cut back on the detergent and it will most likely operate correctly.

NOTES:
* After four (4) minutes the "Sd" error will be displayed, and then four (4) minutes later the "F21" error code will be displayed.
* Press STOP two (2) times to clear the display.

Possible Causes:
- Using too much High Efficiency (HE) detergent and causing too much suds.
- Using NON-HE detergent causing too much suds.
- Kink in drain hose
- Debris or foreign objects in drain pump filter.

The drain filter is located behind the lower access panel.

NOTE: Disconnect the power cord before removing the lower access panel and cleaning out the drain pump filter.

Remove the two screws (key#21) securing access panel. The filter cap (key#14) is removed by turning it counter clockwise. NOTE: Be sure that all the water has pump out before removing the cap. Have some large towels handy because there will be water coming out the filter/pump once you remove the cap. Check and clean the filter and remember to reduce the amount of detergent and the washer should perform as designed

I am getting a random F2 error on my Whirlpool Duet Washer. I can hit cancel, restart and eventually get through the cycle. I have removed the pump and cleaned it as well as all of the lines (with a...

Error Code F02 means a Long Drain error. If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes this error code will be displayed. In addition, a "SUDS" error may also be generated as a secondary error. This is an indication of a drain pump problem and/or clog in the drain line.

To check the drain pump, click on the following guide link: checking_drain_pump_kenmore_elite_front

Generally this coudl be the firsdt steps:
a. Check the drain hose to make sure it is not kinked or clogged.
b. Check the electrical connections to the pump and ensure the pump is running.
c. Remove the drain pump filter and check for foreign objects and/or debris.

I have an error code F or F2...?? that comes up when there is only 2 minutes left.

Hello, Welcome to FixYa.

The F2 error code explained below which can also manifest as F21, sd, or a Suds error applies to all washers manufactured by Whirlpool which include, many Kenmore, Maytag, and of course Whirlpool.

The F2 is an error code typically associated with an obstructed drain pump, pump filter or the back-flow ball in the sump bellows.

**Unplug the washer from the wall before performing any service suggested here at FixYa, unless otherwise stated...safety first**

Here's what to do and check for and possible resolve it...

1) Remove the service panel at the bottom of your washer, i.e.

macmarkus_568.jpg
2) Once removed you'll be greeted by the pump with the removable filter...this is where most obstructions occur, i.e. (some differences may be obvious but same procedure apply)

macmarkus_569.jpg
If the washer hasn't drained and still has items in it or water, it may be a good time to have some towels close by or empty the machine with a wet-dry shop vac...unless you're fortunate to be close to a floor drain.

3) Turn the removable filter counter-clockwise to remove it and inspect it and clean it out. Make a good thorough inspection inside the pump as well not just the removable filter.

macmarkus_570.jpg

4) Re-insert the filter and before placing the panel back run a test rinse/drain cycle to inspect for leaks and to verify the unit drains and spins now.

5) If all appears OK after your efforts, well your efforts paid off...pat yourself on the back. You just saved yourself potentially a couple hundred bucks !

**NOTE: if this still fails to remedy the error code or if it returns immediately during the next drain you may require a pump or you'll need to check the hose/rubber bellows from pump to tub...back-flow ball...as I alluded to previously for other obstructions ).

To inspect the back-flow ball...there is a large clamp which secures it to the tub, but if you remove it to clean out all the dirt built up inside, make sure you get it good and secure when putting it back.**

macmarkus_571.jpg

Once the clamp is pulled back/loose you can pull the bellows from the tub to inspect for obstructions or "gunk" built up causing the ball to stick. i.e.

macmarkus_572.jpg

If a pump is required, you can check with your specific model number for available pumps at "searspartsdirect.com" or "repairclinic.com" to name a couple.

Thanks for choosing FixYa. Please take a moment to rate the solution and a short testimony provided for you here today. Good luck
Regards,

Macmarkus :)

It is not finishing a load it will not drain nor spin and I get the codes f2 and sud can you help

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

- Open the lower panel / door and locate the circular filter. (About 5 inches across.)
- Before removing the filter... drop the drain hose to floor level and get as much water out of the machine as possible.
- Get a cake baking pan and place under the filter to catch any water that drains out. (Have a mop near by!)
- Rotate the filter CCW 90 deg and pull it toward you to remove the filter.
- Once removed get a flash light and inspect the filter sump area for debris. (Reach inside and pull out everything other than machine parts!) You should be able to touch the pump impeller blades.
- Clean the filter.
- Install the filter by pressing it into place then rotating Clockwise 90 deg to lock it into place.

Try a normal load of clothes.
If you still get the F2 / Suds code there is a problem with the drain pump not working properly.

If you have further questions or need more help make sure you include your actual MODEL NUMBER in any future response.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

My kenmore elite mod 42832 has a error code f2 does not drain or spin

Hi
Error F2 appears after 8mins of SUDs error. Error F02 means Long drain, means washer is taking longer time than normal to drain. Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display. NOTE: After 4 minutes the SUD error will be displayed, and then 4 minutes later the F02 error code will be displayed.
? Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
? Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running.
? Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects.
? If the above does not correct the problem, replace the pump.

There are 3 small 9/32 hex head screws that hold the front panel on. Unscrew the 3 hex head screws (9/32 socket or nut driver size), now remove the front kick panel. Unscrew the white drain cap -WARNING-- lots of water will drain out when you loosen the white cap. Once all the water is out, remove and take out the filter trap.
Hope this helps... Please post back for more information
