This is for a kenmore top mount Refrigerator/Freezer Model Number 25363712302. Refrigerator was not cooling properly - was warm. Freezer was working, but after a couple of days, freezer also started to...

Since you say that is isn't cooling properly, I would first start off by cleaning the condenser grill that is located under the cabinet. While this won't correct your problem entirely, it will help!
Most likely you have a defrost system malfuntion. The defrost system consists of the defrost heater (p/n: 5303918208) which is the long tube like thing that sits directly below your evaporator behind the panel in the back of the freezer (inside the freezer). It also consists of the defrost thermostat (p/n: 5303918202), which is located next to the evaporator. Both the defrost heater and defrost thermostat can be checked with an ohm meter - a non-open/infinity reading is good. If both of those check out and are good then it has to be the defrost timer (p/n: 215846602) which is located behind the plastic shield (with the light bulb).
Suggest you defrost the unit (making sure no ice or frost is behind the freezer panel then plug the refrigerator back in. If everything cools down then my diagnosis is correct and one of the components of the defrost system is bad.

If the freezer side is working and the refrigerator is not, its either your evaporator fan motor in the freezer side isn't running, or a defrost system problem. Open the freezer door to listen for the fan, and at the same time look to see if you have a build of ice on the back freezer wall. If you do, there is no circulation from the freezer side to cool the ref. The defrost system consist of a defrost timer, defrost thermostat and defrost heaters. The heaters rarely go out, so if you have to change the timer change the defrost thermostat as well since its a cheap part anyway. timer part number is 2188159 and the thermostat part number is 2196155.(called a bi-metal thermostat.)

My freezer is not freezing and now the fridge is not cooling. Is is worth fixing?

Good day,
If the compressor has failed, then replacement of the machine might make sense, but a refrigerator is a complex device with many components, that can be replaced at nominal cost.
1. The defrost system failed. Usually shows up as frost building up on the rear panel of the freezer compartment. Consists of 3 parts.
2. Circulating fan motor in freezer compartment failed.
3. Condenser cooling fan motor located in the bottom rear of the machine behind the rear cover near the compressor.
4. Compressor not running because the start components failed.
These are mounted to the side of the compressor and consist of
the overload, start relay, and on some models a start/run capacitor.
5. Defective thermostat, not running the machine or not running it enough.
Once these basic items are checked, your question can be answered.

Noise intermitently from top ( freezer section)

in the back there should be a small cover with vent holes in it,that holds on with 2-4 screws, take that off and you will see the fan.REPLACE the fan motor,it may or maynot come with a fan blade, the motor alone is about $60.00,get the model number from inside the fridgerator

Sounds like a evaporator fan or defrost problem. Your freezer should be colder then that, 5 degrees or below. Anyway, any cold air the fresh food compartment gets is blown over from the freezer, verify you can feel the air flow or visually see or hear the fan in the freezer compartment. If that checks ok more then likely your defrost system has a defect. This consists of a defrost timer or adaptive defrost board, a defrost terminator which is just a bi-metal thermostat set typically at 30 degrees or so and a heater element, either a calrod or 1 or 2 glass encased elements. When this system fails you end up with a block of ice on the coils through which air cannot circulate.

Your defrost system consists of the timer, heater and thermostat. Your problem could be any of these. But because your fan doesn't turn off it is more than likely the timer.
