Et2 50 2003 headlight (hi and lo beam) stopped working. thought it was bulb. replaced bulb worked briefly and then noticed that it was no longer lighting. light indicator for hi beam is now on constantly (shining blue) on dash panel. day running light is on and fine. thought that it might be the hi-lo beam switch on control panel so changed that with new one but no luck, no headlight hi or low beam. could voltage regulator be the culprit and if so why do I still have a speedometer light?

I'm looking to buy a 2006 Piaggio Fly 150. I was told that the Valve adjustment service 6000 miles would be coming up and would cost about $200 - $300 does that sound about right.

Hi, Lori it all depends on your location a Piaggio Dealer in downtown San Francisco might charge $100 hr. labor plus parts and tax and various misc. shop fee's whereas a Dealer in Sleepyville Georgia might only charge $60 hr. I believe a 6K service is a major service that should flat rate around 2 hrs. so 2-3 hundred dollars is in the ballpark do your homework, check going prices at different shops if you have that luxury and take someone competent with you to look over the scooter and shed some light on whether it's a good deal or not. You can always use the cost of the pending service as a bargaining chip for price haggling. My email address is at the bottom get back to me with details and I can steer you in a safe financial direction, I was a Harley Tech for 35 years and my first scooter was a Vespa. I have a et2 vespa put 98 ron fuel in the tank ran for about 3 kms now does not run anymore

You are a bit vague with your question.
Did it stop suddenly? Does it crank over?
Was there oil in the self mix tank?
Is there a spark at the plug?
Did you drain the carb for water?
Piaggio / Vespa scooters run on 98 petrol no problem.

Vespa ET2 50 Motorcycles carburetor tuning

Hi, Juan if you have changed your engine size, fuel delivery system, air filter size or flow rate, mufflers or exhaust system or a significant change in altitude your carburetors need re-tuning and if your fuel system (gas tank, filters, fuel valve and carburetor) is contaminated with ethanol sludge, varnish, rust, dirt, water etc. or your bike has been sitting for months or years without running these components must be "PROPERLY" cleaned and reassembled "CORRECTLY" before any adjustments can be made. Tuning your carburetor is fairly simple once you understand the basic principals. You engine is a simple airbox sucking air in and blowing it out, it is finely tuned at the factory for maximum performance once you upset that delicate balance by changing air filters, camshafts or exhaust systems your performance may go down the and the engine may run poorly, you need to compensate the air-fuel mixture in the carburetor in order for the engine to run smoothly and at peak performance. If you are running multi carburetors you need to sync them first and make sure your air cleaner element is clean and dry for paper elements or lightly oiled for foam and meshed elements and properly installed. Here is how and where you compensate trouble: "TIP" if your engine "BOGS" you're not getting enough fuel.
1. Close to 1/8 throttle is managed by the air screw and pilot/slow jet.
2. 1/8 to 1/4 throttle is managed by the air-screw, pilot/slow jet, and throttle slide.
3. 1/4 to 1/2 throttle is managed by the throttle slide and jet needle.
4. 1/2 to 3/4 throttle is managed by the jet needle, needle jet, main jet, and air jet.
5. 3/4 to wide open throttle is managed by the main jet and air jet.
6. A wide open throttle is managed by the main jet.
If you are running lean, spark plug electrode color is white, engine runs hot and feels like it is starving for fuel you need to go up on the jet size or move the c-clip down one notch. If you are running rich, spark plug color is black or dark gray, the engine runs cool, and bogs down when accelerating you need to go down on jet size or move the c-clip up one notch. When your carburetor is properly tuned for maximum performance your spark plug electrode will be a light tan color like coffee with cream. If you prefer fuel economy over performance you can go down on main jet sizes until a satisfactory level of lower performance is acceptable versus MPH, your spark plug color will be whiter and your engine will run warmer. These tuning adjustments will only make improvements if your intake and exhaust system have no air leaks or sealing issues and the entire electrical system is in proper working order and you have no mechanical issues.

Vespa et2 clock

there is only 1 fuse on an et2 and if the horn, starter and indicators work, then this iis not the problem.
It is most likely the battery which is at the back of the speedo. to get to this you need to remove the mirrors and screws from the handlebars, split the casing, disconnect the speedo cable and all electric blocks (carefully) and turn the speedo over. there is a little round plug that needs to be removed and the battery is behind it.
I think it is a rechargable battery, so replacing it with a normal battery will only work temporarily.

Et2 Cutting out and not maintaining revs

There is an adjustment screw on the carburetor facing towards the back wheel. You have to reach down about finger length. With the engine running and the ET2 on its stand, turn the screw until the engine revs up to a level you r happy with.

Happy scooting
