SOURCE: 1. HOW TO READ SCALING OF SCOPE.? 2. What is

You have not provided enough information for us to help you. What type of rifle? What do you mean by scaling?

With the scope on 3 power you should be able to sight it in at 25 meters. Going to a higher magnification may cause blurring at that distance.

You also may have mounting problems that are causing the scope to move around when you shoot. Your rifle may be fine.

You can get a base line by bore sighting the scope. Bore sight kits are a bit pricy, might be best to take it to a gun range an start at 15 yards shoot a few move out to 25 the 50 then 100. Yes your scope should be sighted for one gun one round, with a cold barrel. Let it cool between shots.

SOURCE: I just purchased a savage .17 HMR with a cabelas

A quick and easy way to bore sight your rifle, if it is bolt action only, or an AR, mount the rifle in a cardboard box with cutouts so it will sit without tipping, remove the bolt and sight down the bore at a target 100 yards away, a mail box, or the corner of a building, make sure the rifle doesn't move, then peek through the scope, it should be seeing the same target your bore is seeing, if not, adjust your scope to it, if it won't travel that far, shim the front with pieces of 35 mm film. then check it again, if you can get it to stay there, it will put your bullet on paper at 100 yards.

1 inch dovetail mounts medium height if your marlin 60 has 11 mm dovetail rails . if not will need to get receiver drilled for rail mounting and mounts of your choice better to get a competent gunsmith to do it

I dont understand what the extra dial on my new 6-18x44 scope is for or how to use it.Or what range evry line and dot in the reticule should be ranged in at.

The third turret is for parallax and approximate range
And the lines on the reticule are round and velocity specific plus magnification comes into the distances between substension
On my scope 100 yard zero the next substension down is 176 yards at 10 magnification
The best way to use the reticule for ranging is to get a ballistics program and enter rifle round and scope stats and get a chart for that round and reticule
And the drop chart will change for different velocities and ballistic coefficients of rounds and temperatures a summer chart will be different to a winter chart due to denser air in the cold

Is there a way to lower my turret after i've found my zero? my zero is at the 4th vertical tic mark on the 0.

No. The turret is what it is. If you want to re-set the turret to zero so that it is easy to return to for a specific distance, there should be a setscrew you can loosen, adjust the turret to zero, then re-tighten to lock it in place. If you are simply trying to lower the turret, you need to purchase a scope without target turrets.

On the adjustment turrets, after loosening the set screws, how do you get it to go down so the yardage lines up?

after you sight the rifle in at say 100 yd. lift the turret and line up the 100 yard mark on the turret to the mark, then push the turret down onto the scope and set the screw. some times the turret takes a lot of pressure to push back on.

I have to use reading glasses to use a simmons blazer rifle scope.....othewise the image is blurry.

You can't see the cross hairs or the whole picture is blurry? I know that the rear ring on the scope will bring the cross hairs into focus, glasses or not, and the scope itself should be clear all the way down, I can't see a thing either without glasses and it has really hampered my shooting. It ain't no fun , it's frustrating. Try turning the rear eyepiece, see what happens, hope this helps.

Adjustment Issue

the scope should all ways be fitted with the wind adjustment on the right as you look down the rifle, therefor the top ajuster is for up/down,
right ajuster is wind,,left/right, the easy way to set it up is to aim at some sand with the rifle on a stand or in a jig, shoot one round see were it hits and without moving the rifle, turn the turrets till the cross is over the point were the bullet landed, having a pall to move the turrets for you helps a lot here, the main point is dont move the rifle till the turrets have been moved first,, its that or bore sight it,,, jig the rifle up pointing at a target at say 200yds look down the bore aim the bore at the target lock down the rifle check it by looking down the bore again then set the cross up in the scope on what you see down the bore
you will need to tweek the scope a bit as you havent taken the bullet drop into the ajustment that way,,
