Question about Sears Craftsman LiftMaster Chamberlain Garage Door Opener Wireless Keypad Model 976LM Security+

Garage door external keypad staring to fail regularly

I have a garage door external key pad (craftman 139.53684) that has started to work intermittently. It is becoming more problematic. We have replaced the battery and that did not solve the problem. What are the steps to get it working again? Reset the system first, check the wiring from the keypad to the opener second, and then buy a replacement keypad as a last option? Thanks!!!

Replace the pad, it is exposed to the enviroment, try to find a box of some type to protect the new one.

I have a 1/2 HP craftsman garage door opened with the key pad. The code started not working. WHen I try to reset, the keypad just flashes. HELP!

Make sure the battery in the keypad is good. If you cannot get the keypad to work using this method to program then your keypad has failed.

Locate the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release this and then walk over to the keypad and key in any 4 digit code you like and press enter.

Key pad not working. Garage door will open with

I'm confused about the battery you replaced inside the garage but you can try programming the keypad just to see.

Locate the smart/learn button on the back of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release it and then walk over and key in your 4 digit code and press enter. If this doesn't work and you know the battery inside the keypad is good, you have a bad keypad.

Reset Craftsman keyless entry pad.

What you are asking for is not possible. You need to call a garage door repair technician. They will drill a hole through the door and using a special tool can pull the rope to release the door.

Garage door pad

You need to press and release the learn botton (don't hold it or you will clear all the codes)
If the light bulb(s) on your operator are on the front and/or back, the learn botton is on the back of the operator. If the lights are on the sides of the operator then the learn botton is on the right side (looking from the back of the operator and facing the garage door).
After you press the learn button you have about 30 seconds to press in the new 4 digit code in your key pad then hold the enter button until the light on the operator blinks (about 2 seconds). If this does not work check the battery and try it again.
