Hi There,

SInce you don't mention the brand of computer you have, I'll have to be general about this.

1. Go to the Support section of your computer's manufacturer
2. Choose to go to Drivers and Downloads
3. Select you exact model
4. Make sure to select XP as your operating system
5. You need to bookmark the page with the drivers for your computer and then download and install drivers that are described as USB controllers or Chipset drivers....sometimes System Software.

If you can;t figure it out, please repost your request and ask for USB drivers for your exact make and model of computer so we can give you direct links to your drivers.

Good Luck

How do i get my photos off my phone using my usb cord to my computer

1. Open your Web browser and navigate to the Manufacturer website. Select the "Products" option and search for your model of your phone. Click the "Download Drivers" option and download the driver to your computer. The driver allows your computer to communicate with your phone.
2. Double-click the downloaded driver to open the installation wizard. Select "Next," read through the license agreement and accept it, then click "Install" to install the driver.
3. Plug the USB data cable into the power port on your phone. Connect the other end of the cable into any available USB port on the computer.
4. Click the "Start" button on your desktop and click "Computer" ("My Computer" on older Windows versions). Double-click the removable device icon to open the phone window.
5. Select the "Pictures" window, and a new window loads with all of the images currently stored on the phone. Click-and-drag the pictures from the window onto the desktop to copy the photos from your phone to the desktop with your USB cable.

Says USB device malfunctioned & Windows does not recognize it.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Please check the USB device with another Computer if it is working, if not then there is an issue with the USB Device. However, if it works with other Computer and not yours then the issue is with the Computer. Go to Control Panel-> System -> Hardware tab-> device manager. Now uninstall the usb drivers from the computer, and reinstall these drivers. Now, restart the computer and try connecting the USB device.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Download onto mp3 player

You may first want to check to see if your player came with software that can aid in this process. You'll also need to know what formats of media your player accepts. For these purposes, we'll assume your player accepts mp3 format media and connects to your PC via USB.

1. Connect the device to a USB connection on your computer.
2. If you're using Windows, your computer should automatically detect the device, probably showing it as a removable hard disk.
3. Double-click the removable USB device that your computer now sees and here you will have to browse to see where your player will accept the media; likely, right here will work.
4. Now, just copy & paste mp3 files from your pc to your media player/removable USB device.
5. When done, safely remove the player from the computer.

Can't get the usb port to accept the mp4 player.

Switch on your Mp4 player and connect it to the usb port. Your computer should produce a message "New Hardware Detected". If you don't get such a message either the lead, the usb port or the Mp4 player is faulty.

If you do get such a message, if your computer can't find and instal the right drivers automatically there will be another message or the Found New Hardware wizard will appear. By following the onscreen instructions your computer should be able to search the internet for suitable drivers.

In any eventuality, when connected the Mp4 player should appear in the My Computer window and if it doesn't it isn't connected.
