In this case, I believe it is the power supply board; more specifically the capacitors are failing. When you have the clicking problem and the long boot up times this has generally been the issue.

When you have video display problems such as shadows and lines that go away after warming up it is usually the LVDS cable and T CONN board going bad.

I had the shadow and line problem and replaced both the cable and board for $120 and that fixed my problem. Since I had the TV apart, I went ahead and replaced the capacitors so I wouldn't run into that later. You can find the parts numbers for the LNT4661F cable and board below. You can find links to you tube ( Part 1 & 2) to show how to replace the capacitors. Good luck.

It could be a faulty power supply (capacitors). To all who are having power supply issues: Samsung is now acknowledging a problem with faulty capacitors. I called 1 800 726-7864 and they said they would repair certain out-of-warranty TVs if the problem is related to the capacitors. I just called and they are sending a service rep out to diagnose the problem

Dh14.... what did you exactly tell samsung? I just tried calling and told them about the capacitors and they just gave me phone numbers from local tv repair shops and supposibly is not a "known issue"... thanks in advance.

I have the same TV (about 2.5 years old)
I just called Samsung Canada (1-800-726-7864) and spoke to a customer service rep who gave me a transaction # and said they will send someone out to fix the problem at no cost. it has something to do with the capacitors and they are aware of the problem.

unfortunately there is no way to fix this short of taking the unit apart and checking for loose connections, which may cause more problems than it solves, either take it to a tv repairman or hope it doesnt get any worse :s

Power light keeps blinking, makes a click noise when power button is pressed, does not turn on

Hey there! I had the same problem like that 2-3 weeks ago! I called LG and told them the problem. It seems the board inside that is supposed to connect electricity to the screen is dead, like one cell, is dead, which causes all this trouble.
You have to get it replaced. If you have warranty, its free, otherwise you'll have to pay around $135
All the best! I hope I helped you

Samsung LN-T4661F will not display PC; displays 'mode not supported'. Using a VGA cable to connect laptop to tv

Look in the manual for the TV and determine which platform is supported. VGA, XVGA, SVGA etc. Set your computer output to the proper mode and the unit should work. Let me know how you make out.
