The 02 monitor will reset after 300 miles of normal driving and must include One soak period of 8 hrs to reset all monitors, drive a little more, I hope this helps, take care. Merry Christmas.
I would say 10 to 20 miles would be enough to tell if the trouble codes will return. You may be able to disconnect the battery for a couple of hours to clear the codes, but using a scanner or code reader is better. A scanner or code reader can find history trouble codes on some models and in some cases without the engine light being on. The purpose of the warning light is to tell the driver the vehicle needs attention now.
There are a total of 4 02 sensors on your vehicle. Each side of the engine has 2 02 sensors. 1 sensor is located before the catalytic converter, and 1 sensor after the converter for each exhaust. You will have to remove the lower plastic covers under the car to access where the sensors are located. They are located in the exhaust forward of the transmission. You will need either a 22mm or 24mm open end wrench, or preferably an oxygen sensor removal tool which can be purchased from an automotive store or even Sears. In addition you may need a 3/8 ratchet. The sensors can be pricey and I recommend staying with Bosch brand if possible. It is best to remove the sensors when the exhaust is cold.
check engine light on when tested it says bad o2 sensor did you replace 02 sensor it takes driveing it so many miles before light will go off give it couple days you dont need cadillac converter check engine light will go off cv joint they click as you turn dont let a mechanic sell you something you dont need its very rare for cadillac converters to go bad its common for o2 sensors to go bad like yours did but when 02 sensors are replaced it takes driveing it for awhile before it resets itself you also have more then one 02 sensor was then wrong one replaced they screw into your exaust manifold
Correct me if I'm wrong but does your car have 2 fuel pumps, one in the tank and one in the line? I might be confusing that with a Volvo. Here's a link to an in line fuel pump for a 528e. Scroll down or search for 528e when you go to the website. THis page also has your charcoal cannister. Hope this helps. Good luck!
