Question about Vizio VW42LF 42 in. LCD HDTV
Our 42" vizio has a shadow on the left side of the screen. Do you know how to fix this? Is it fixable?
HVPS, high voltage power supply, or computer boards, or LCD screen/inverter is going bad. Happening with mine, usually a HVPS or LVPS (low voltage). See it all the time in health care monitors. Nothing you can do, unless you want to take your TV apart, use a DMM (digital multimeter) and know how to test for voltages. Then when you find the issue, order boards at around 300 to 400 a piece, or 1000 USD for a LCD screen. Then put it back together. Unless its under warranty. Vizios is one year,
Short answer, live with it, or buy a new TV. Now days its cheaper to replace than fix most things.
