My comments are based on the FAV6800A or FAV9800A for support in this forum. If your machine type is not one of those then please disregard my pos, if it is do read on.

You are describing a common failure for FAV6800A or FAV9800A caused by a Clutch malfunction 9.99998 times of 10.

See this post Clutch repair post for the DIY fix. I’m an owner of the FAV6800A machine.
I suggest diving in and do the repair yourself and save $300 plus over a service repair. I will help you all the way and offer phone support if necessary, my support is free. What are the first two digits of your serial number of your machine. From the front of the machine the s/n tag is on the right rear console. Could be 10, 12, 15, 16, 17…etc. That will give me a feel if your Clutch assembly uses the Upper One-Way roller clutch ring. At the Clutch repair post link you to you can pull the Service Manual a must for DIY'ers.

If you decide to DIY I have some additional info…. so just let me know what direction you want to go.

You can drain the excess water out of the wash tub in Service Mode;
Process slightly modified from the Service Manual;

Enter Service Mode by pressing and holding the Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys for three seconds or the display reads “00”

Pressing the Delicates key will lock the lid. Now press the Presoak key the drain pump will turn on. Stop with off button or hit the Presoak key.

    theconsltant ,

Thank you for the feedback. The process of removing the clutch and doing the One-Way Roller clutch may seem a bit much. If you or someone you know has basic mechanical skills can do this. From what you describe you are in the early stages of a clutch malfunction and i feel a clean up with and relube with WD-40 will get you back in service. Good Luck Rich

    theconsltant,

I really do appreciate the feedback. Your Clutch will use the Upper One-Way Roller Clutch bearing along with the Hub mounted Upper One-Way Roller Clutch bearing.

I just picked up my second e-bay machine ($40) and it was series 10 as yours (first two digits of your s/n is the series). This machine was not erroring out with unbalance codes but I cleaned up both One-Way Roller Clutch bearings as just good maintenance practice some pics of what I found.

Nasty white powder not sure where that came from.

All cleaned up ready for reinstall.

This process saves $1K machine from the land fill or a $300 service call if you don't DIY.

Cost to repair several squirts of WD-40 and a re-lube with Slick 50 One lube. I had both cans on the work bench. Guess you will spen $10 to $12 for a Walmart run.

Here is a pic of my best ebay buy to date local pick up I was just in the right spot at the right time. I'm now using it with as my primary machine. It's a series 17 machine and is in better shape than my series 16 which will go up for sale. It was falling with dC unbalance errors.

A 15 minute One-Way Roller Clutch bearing clean up and re-lube and I will have years of good service. $1K machine, I offerd to repair but the person was moving.

What does error code dc mean?

DC error code means: "Unbalanced load". It can occur if the washer:
1. is overloaded (too many clothes inserted),
2. can't balance the load within a few balance cycles,
3. has a damaged balance sensor,
4. isn't regulated properly (vibrates abnormally).
IMHO you just overloaded the washer :)

Throttle position sensor

Have you checked generic & enhanced data for codes
with a scan tool?

Have you scoped the TPS to put that to rest?

Your putting in throttle, but the ecu is not adding air calculation
or fuel,so you need to do some testing to see what's missing.

Starts & runs good, but under load or higher vacuum it bogs,so
check the egr system or any vacuum related systems.

Check for vacuum leaks, intake, exhaust before converter & evap system

Machine shuts off and gives DC error

A DC code indicates an out of balance load, and the need to Distribute Clothes (DC). It will not allow a high speed spin when this condition is present. Remove power to unit for 3 minutes and reconnect. If trouble persists, call in a pro as several components could cause a DC code without an unbalanced condition.

During final spin cycle a code that says DC of balance load and there is a bang from the tube

The DC code that comes up is just saying that the load is "off balance" to resolve this, open the washer and redistribute the last and restart.

The bang fron the tub that you hear is just from the load being off balance. Generally it's just the weight difference on the tub when the washer stops spinning. This is normal for an off balance load and is nothing to be overly concerned about.

If you are getting the DC code a lot, take a look at the types of loads you are washing. Are they small? Is it a mix of small and large items? Is it a few large items? This may be the answer to why you are having off balance issues. The Neptune is a very large washer, and can get off balance very easily with smaller loads. Try making loads larger or if you are washing for example sheets, try washing them in 3's. This will make it easier for the washer to balance the load.

Good luck! Please let me know if this was helpful!
