Question about Baby Gear
I presume you bought it used. If it is new and has a corroded battery compartment you should return it to where you bought it and get a new swing. You should scrape as much of the corrosion as possible off the battery contacts. Use steel wool or sandpaper to make the contacts shiny. Bend them carefully to make sure they are tight to the batteries. If the contacts are corroded to the point that they cannot be cleaned or if they break then the battery pack will have to be replaced. You may also be able to use a paste made of baking soda and water to remove some of the corrosion. If the swing does not work after the battery contacts are clean and new batteries are installed then there may be a problem in the wiring, in the switch or in the motor.
