If the camera has recently been dropped you may have lens damage that is preventing it from operating.. If it hasn't been dropped your problem may be due to weak/worn out batteries or corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera and give them a full charge (assuming that you are using rechargeable batteries). This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, your batteries may need to be replaced or the camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.

The zoom on the sb600 wont adjust accordingly to the zoom of my lens

Three things come to mind.
First, make sure that you are in fully automatic mode - easily done by reset (holding down "Mode" and "On/Off" at the same time. If you hit the "zoom" button it takes it out of automatic zoom and cycles through manual zoom settings until you get to auto again.
Second - make sure the camera is in an auto mode - manual mode could stop it from zooming.
Third - make sure that you don't have the diffuser pulled down. That can keep it from zooming also.
Good luck!

Olympus Stylus 730 shuts off after few seconds. Battery is fully charged, tried a resetting: no change.

To save battery power, the camera automatically goes into sleep mode and the monitor turns off if there is no operation when the camera is turned on (when the lens cover opens and the monitor is on). No picture is taken even if the shutter button is fully pressed in this mode.
Operate the zoom lever or other buttons to restore the camera from sleep mode before taking a picture. If the camera is left for 15 minutes, it automatically turns off (the lens cover closes and the monitor turns off). Press POWER to turn the camera on.

Zoom malfunction

I had exactly the same problem. You just need to smash once with your hand on the bottom of your camera (it looks that this works for all canon cameras).

FX8 all button frozen

I am not sure if this is a solution. but one time, i turned on my camera when the battery is really drained. usually (when it was broken) it will automatically zoom in. but that certain period when i turned it on, even before it can zoom in, the battery drained and the camera went off. i charged the battery and when i put it back and turned on the camera, it works fine. it is still working fine. good thing i didnt had the repair center fix it, because they charge really high price.
