I have a Sony PS2 that turns on but doesn't read discs. It says "no data" Any ideas on fixing would be appreciated! Thanks, Gregg

Your laser might be dirty. that was the problem with my friends. just clean it out, and also clean out the entire system if you possibly can.

My PS2 will not read my discs

remove the cover, take out the two tiny philips head screws from the cover on the drive and clean the lens with a q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol. Do this gently! use compressed air to remove the dust collected inside the unit and then reassemble.

Slim ps2 disk read error

I don't want to put you down or nothing but, buying the slim ps2 wasn't a great idea. If you bought the original ps2 it would've been better. The thing about the thin ps2 is the hd is small, the laser tends to become weaker faster. Go get the ps2 checked out someplace.

the ps2 slim gets disc read error alot. this issue can be fix by replacing the laser in the system. make sure you get the correct laser

check the adjustment of ur cd holder, it might be very deep that causes the cd to touch the lens..coz lens usually move up and down, forward and back to read the cd...

Disc read error

To fix this problem, you will need to open your PS2 and re-adjust its lens. To open your PS2, first turn it upside down. Remove the 4 rubber feet and 6 square tabs (circled in the picture) by sliding a flat screwdriver (or something similar) underneath them.
