Question about HP nx9420 Notebook

Two NX9420's, one boots fast, other doesn't (same drive)

I've got two NX9420's, and I would like to move the same drive between the two machines. However, one machine seems to boot right up, while the other takes 2min 15sec. If it's the "same" machine, why the difference in time to boot up? Even though the machines are the same, are they THAT different? And what can I do to make it boot faster, if anything.

Things to check.

1. amount of ram in each system.

2. msconfig you can optimize the system by turning off items in start up that aren't necessary. I.E adobe, AIM, etc if you are unsure then do google research or don't remove.

3. go to my computer: properties: advanced: visual settings: then uncheck every box besides the last four.

4. run malwarebytes (free download) to make sure the system isn't infected.

just a few tips that often help optimize. hope that helps.

You need to check the bios settings. If for instance the first boot device on one computer is the harddrive and the second is the cdrom it won't take time to check the cdrom for a bootable disk and just start booting. If the second machine boots CD first then it will always check to see if a bootable cd is in the drive. There are many other options in the bios that can contribute to this. the clock cycles may be configure to overclock CPU, there are reset configuration option, is S.M.A.R.T. option enabled for one drive and not the other. You are dealing with a mass produced product also. There is the possibility that the ram may be different speed. You might try running some benchmark programs on the two laptops. There is also a program called SIW (System Information for Windows. It can give you a rundown of your installed hardware to compare them. Sysoft Sandra is a benchmark utility you can try.

Bottom thread on Juki DDL-5550 is coming up. Top thread seems to lie flat

Check your upper thread at the spool. I've had industrial machines randomly throw a loop around the spool holder spindle which is hidden under the spool itself.

Also check your threading guide to be absolutely certain you are threading it correctly. Also make sure needle/thread diameter are suitable for each other.

Good luck.

Seall off washing machine

you have a bad spider gear,it would be cheaper to replace the machine, overloading and using to much detergent breaks the gear when this happens when in spin you'll hear a loud ba ba ba ba banging sound and like you said you can find pieces of it in the machine and in the pump if you've been using that way for a while,i've seen the rubber boot rip right off from people still using this way and the shocks snapped off.time for new washer sorry for the bad news.this is a bad bearing

Did it display any video at all with boot options or HP logo? Any POST test or beeps after you started the laptop?
Try removing the power ac adapter and battery. then only boot it up with just the AC adapter (no battery).

Network boot

If you just need file s from the other machine booting from network won't help you - that's just so you can reload the OS over the network.

You should just need to plug the ethernet cable into both machines (make sure you use "crossover" cables to connect them directly or use a router or hub if not connected directly.

-Then just go to the properties for "my computer" and click the Computer Name tab. Write the computer name down. TO access the other computer, go to Start/Run and type:

\\COMPUTERNAME

(not case sensitive)

Make sure you right click on the folder you want to share with the other machine and select "sharing and security" to open it up to the other machine.

Alternatively an external hard drive is a quick way to move a lot of files to another machine.
