This has to be the evap. fan motor. I have ran into this alot. If you take the vent off the topcenter of the freezer back panel useing a simple flat head unlock the clips. Once you see the fan blades push it with your finger carefully if it spins slow and little wobblely the motor has failed. If it turns not at all then check for 120V. going into the motor by unhooking it if you get 120V motor bad if you get nothing then the Jazzboard or Highvoltage control board has failed. To install a new fanmotor is easy take your time most parts come out with a flathead screw driver and 1/4inchnutdriver. Evap. fan motor is just clipped in.

Re: maytag fridge model # MFF2557HEB

Mine failed, the opening thingie for these is made of plastic and fails often according to my repairman, he replaced it with a metal one and I have no problems now!!! BTW a "thingie" is defined as the "vent" that lets cool air from the freezer into the refrigerator. That is the only thing that makes the fridge cool!

Can you feel air moving or hear the fan running in the freezer section? You said the freezer section is freezing well, but is it freezing really hard?

What would cause the freeze to be cooling normally and the refrigerator side to be at a temperature of 55 degrees?

all it does is the freezer gets cold, the evap fan blows cold air from the freezer into the fridge section so if the freezer is fine, check the air ducts in the fridge section,if a package or something is blocking the vent on the bottom it will get warm or also on your model you have a damper on the top where the air blow into the fridge section from the freezer, you have an electronic damper, there's a door that opens and closes to let the air in,when it's cold enough the door closes when it gets warm the door opens so either the damper is bad or the computer board that operates it is bad, also check the packages in the freezer,if you see frozen water droplets on the packages or ice on the shelves the door could have been left open and the air ducts freeze so no air can pass through, you can hit the air ducts with a hair dryer to melt them out but be careful, don't keep the heat on one spot for to long, you can damage the ducts, also when you open the freezer door you should hear the fan blowing,if not you could have a bad evap fan motor and the air isn't blowing over to the fridge section, the damper is like 45 dollars and the computer board is around 120 dollars, you can go onto the sears site, put your model number in and look at the controls and you can look up the parts. copy and the freezer door, listen for the fan no fan bad motor,if the fan is blowing either the air ducts are frozen or you have a problem with the damper or board that operates the damper, you might want to call in a tech for this if it is the damper,it's a little tricky to do this job but that's up to you.good luck and i hope this helps you out.

Refrigerator not cooling. doesn't seem like fan is blowing. freezer still working

all that happens is the cold air from the freezer gets blown into the fridge section by the evap fan motor brhind the inside back wall of the freezer so if you open the freezer door and don't hear the fan blowing i would say that yes you do have a bad evap fan motor and that's why the fridge section is time send the brand name and model number so i can help you better

Fridge is warm, was collecting water inside. Freezer is working fine. Increased temp but not responding. It is a bottom freezer model

send the model number off of the fridge,if the freezer is working fine then no air is being blown up to the fridge section, all it does is blow cold air from the freezer to the fridge section so either the door was left open and this is very common with a bottom mount freezer or the evap fan isn't blowing or on some models there's a damper inside the fridge section, the damper door opens and closes to let cold air in,when it reaches temp. the door closes, sometimes the door gets stuck in the closed position or the open position and the fridge freezes or gets warm depending on where the door is.first thing open the freezer door,do you hear the fan blowing,if not you could have a bad evap. fan motor, next look at the ceiling and on the packages,do you see frozen water droplets,if so the door was left open and the air ducts are froze up from the warm air getting in from the door being open and mixing with the cold air freezes up the air ducts, also stick your hand onto the back inside wall of the freezer,if there's like snow or frost on the inside back wall of the freezer you could have a defrost problem, bad defrost thermostat, heater, timer or board depending on the model or last a bad damper, when you open the fridge door there are air ducts usually up top and in the middle you should feel cold air blowing in,this is your problem the air isn't making it into the fridge section.if the door was left open, unplug the fridge, remove the food from the freezer and with a hair dryer heat up the back inside wall of the freezer and blow the hot air into the air vent holes in the back wall to melt out the air ducts, keep heating it up until you don't see any more water dripping, you can see the water dripping through the vent let me know what you find, send the model number and we can go from there.look up near the ceiling in the fridge section on the right hand wall and you should see a tag with the model and serial numbers, send the full model number so i can see what you have in your machine.

The freezer is COLD..freezes solid. Setting at low. The frige part is not cold and is set at high. Seems everything is going up to the freezer. Unit is just over 1 year old. Drinks are cool but not...

where is the freezer on top, side by side or the bottom.all a fridge does is blow cold air from the freezer to the fridge side that's it,if the fridge is warm there's a problem most likely in the freezer,a plugged drain or when you open the freezer door do you hear the fan blowing,if not you have a bad evap fan motor, also check your warranty it still might be covered.send the model number and i can help you,if you see water under the bottom draws or in the fridge section if the freezer is on top you have a blocked drain in the freezer.let me know what you find and i can help you

Maytag side by side model GS24C8C3EV Refrigerator too warm

it is almost certainly a defrost problem. when fault has occured, remove freezer bzck panel and see if there is ice build-up. if so this confirms a defrost problem - possibly that the element is open circuit
