have same problem and cant get good tech support. samsung sucks

I now have a blue screen with sound. It worked a month ago. I can play a DVD under 'composite' with no problems, but the satelite channel is blue with sound only. I'm wondering if it is the tuner. From what I can tell it only has an NTSC tuner. I called tech support for the dish and all settings are correct.

I have great sound but no video on 40" LCD panel. After reading this I realize that is common after 2 years. I plugged in another TV and it worked fine with the same cable connection so I know it is the TV.

Same problem - 2nd TV - first one Samsung replaced - 2nd one they repaired - and now happening again. I'd say Samsung is putting out some fine lemons - can't endorse the quality of their TVs, though.

I have a 4 yr. old Samsung LNR-328W that quite suddenly lost it's picture. There is audio only, with a solid blue screen, no flicker, no lines, just solid blue. I noticed the HDTV was running hot to touch on rear near vents. I am currently waiting for a local TV repair tech (authorized for Samsung) to come to house and give a free estimate. If the repair is more than TV is valued (it is 4 yrs. old) then I'll ditch it for a Sony Bravia BR6 series.

I bought this based on previous experience with Samsung products and thought they were good quality. I bought this model new, so I expected it to run well for many years.

I'll update the post once I discover the reason and possible solution.

Ya ya, a 40 " LCD Samsung with blue screen with sound. Bought it with the extended warranty in 2005. Geek Squad on the way! Sounds like enough people are having the same problem that a class action lawsuit could get us some money back.

I have the same problem. I brought a Samsung 46" in July 07 and on Jan 8, 2008, video went blue.

I called Samsung and sent out technician and they replaced the motherboard.

Two hours later, same problem occured. I called today and Electronic Company thinks I have a bad LCD panel.

I have the same problem. Given that it happens only in the HDMT mode and I can watch TV in Ext.1*** mode I think the fault is in Box. I called Virgin in Summer and they changed the BOX - no change. Their technician said it is the scat cables fault as they tend to overheat when old and needed changing- so I swapped with the spare ones I have - No Change!! I have not decided to but the gold £50 ones as I do not think they will be 10x better than the £5 ones I have - if you do share with us the results. So the problem persists. Since I can watch TV as above*** I only have the frustration of recording blank occasionally when this happens when time-recording!! By the way I love my Samsung.

The Samsung authorized repair Technician diagnosed my Samsung LCD HDTV. Initial symptom was suddenly having audio only and solid blue screen. He said the problem was well known to be caused by a faulty video board. He has seen this same issue many, many times. The power supply checked out okay and the cabling was good. The signal coming from cable box was strong. The motherboard was good. Problem was the video board.
Cost to repair / replace video board is $450.00 which includes parts and service. Estimated repair time 4 days from local NJ vendor.
I consider this a good deal. Now I'll enjoy it for another 3-4 yrs. before upgrading to a newer HDTV. This is the only issue I've had with this Samsung LNR28W purchased in 2005. With the economy as it is, it's wiser to repair a good, sturdy unit than to buy a new model now being made with cheaper materials (that's one reason the costs have come down).

You consider a $450 repair for a recurring problem a good deal. The TV repair guys must love you.

SOURCE: blue screen

Did you see the back light at the back. If yes, the problem may come from T-Con board. Try other source like playing DVD AND If THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPEN, you may think of the main board defective.

I have a Vizio model P50HDTV20A. The problem is this. One day it would not turn on. I got the clicks then a green light. No picture no sound. So i let it sit with the green light on for awhile. Turned it...

Look for numerous bad capacitors on power supply or replace board. Also look for burn spot on square buffer ic's to left of cabinet with back off. Replace bd's as necessary.

PV-GS9 mini dv playback problem

I covered several threads that recommended buying a Mini DV cleaner and running it up to 4 times. They also suggested to change to change your video tape as it may have been the cause of the original problem.

These solutions may have worked for many but not me. My camera was becoming progressively worse. It went to blue bars and no sound to no picture at all...just blue. After using a cleaner 4 times I became frustrated to the point I was going to buy a new camera.

However, with the camera still playing, I did the typical guy thing and rolled up my fist and gave it a good hit along side of it. Remarkably it went back to just the blue bars. I hit it again and it went back to a perfect picture. I'm not saying this will work for you and hitting it too hard could make things worse but I was at a point where I didn't care any more and took a chance that paid off.

Please let us know more details next time, like what you have tried already. Try connecting your screen directly to a DVD player or other alternative source to make sure the problem isn't with the source, maybe you were watching cable TV and the connection is slightly loose - Try playing with all the connections, pulling them a little out or pushing in, blowing into them, replacing cables, Try connecting another screen. at the moment its hard to tell what went wrong. Does the sound come from the plasmas speakers, or from a home theatre setup? If you couldnt work it out with the very basic solutions listed above please repost your original question with as much relevant detail as possible. Good luck
