Tv will boot up and show picture for about 1 to 2 secs then shut off. It just keeps trying over and over. The 5 leds show the boot sequence makes it till LED 2,3,4 at lit. Then it shuts down and recycles again. The picture and sound are just fine for those few seconds. The remote nor the hard buttons on the t.v respond to anthing. Does anyone have any idea?

Tv will boot up and show picture for about 1 to 2 secs then shut off. It just keeps trying over and over. The blue led blinks 10 times and on the 10th time it will stay lite and show the picture for a second or two and then shut off again and start the cycle over. The picture and sound are just fine for those few seconds. The remote nor the hard buttons on the t.v respond to anthing except the power button. Does anyone have any idea?

I have the Acer Aspire E 17 lap top. I left it on the charger for 1 hour. I keep trying to turn it back on, but after the Acer start up screen shows, it goes blank except for the cursor. What do I do?

take the long battery out after you unplug it. wait 30 sec and plug the ac only in. make sure that thier is nothing else plug in like any usb devices. very common problem. if it comes back it may boot up at first in safe mode or you might see a dos menu and one of the choices will be to boot in safe mode and also you might see to boot to last known. try either one. once it is booted up completly and it may take 5 minutes, then SAFELY shut it down and power it up and see if it works now. good luck.

The Service Default Mode (SDM) is a technical aid that can be used to display the your TV error code.
Follow these instrutions exactly to place your set in SDM Mode.
For sets that still have video do the following.
  1. Turn your TV on
  2. Using the original Philips TV remote press the following keys. Press each key for 1 sec then press the next.
  3. From the remote press 0 6 2 5 9 6 MENU
  4. You should now see the letters "SDM" in the far right hand corner.

  5. The blinking sequence will determine the error code.
  6. You will have one long 5 second red blink followed by the error code.
Note: On some sets the TV will automaticaly blink the error code when its powered up without having to go into the SDM menu. If you power light blinks after the set is powered up jot down the sequence.
Example Error Codes from the power light.
( RED 5 Seconds ) off ( RED 1/2 Sec ) off ( RED 1/2 Sec ) off ( RED 1/2 Sec ) = Error Code 3

Panasonic projection TV does not turn on.

Power LED flashes orange 1 x 5 secs. = 1 of 3 fans stopped. TEMP LED flashes 1 x 5 secs, = Temperature error. Lamp LED flashes 1 x 5 secs. = lamp ballast error. (check lamp 1st.)
Hope this helps.

Tv cycles on and off

I just went through this as many others have done so I am sure that Hitachi knows it to be a manufacturing and software problem but will not do right by the customers. Judging by the date of your request you may have already found the repair.

The main digital board (part #JP50763) on my 55HDT79 manufactured in Feb 2007 fouled and had to be replaced. It has the new software on it that is supposed to prevent the problem from recurring. Bad news is that the final cost to me was 25% of the original price. Just the board costs $433.00.

Acer Aspire not booting

I'm inclined to believe something is going on with the DVD drive, perhaps a I/O cable or driver issue, it just seems like what you said about the drive sounding like it's trying to read is a clue, what I would try if you have not already ,is since you said you can get to get to the Bios usually the default for boot sequence is CD/DVD drive first unless you change it, see if you can change the boot sequence from DVD drive first to HDD first and see if you can bypass it, then it might just boot, if that works then that was the cause,I see no other reason why the Drive should be trying to read other than the boot sequence. if not then it might be more complicated and could be a hardware issue somewhere,

Hoep this helps.

TV shuts off after 5 sec

Good Day,

TRY THIS:

This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input/device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1. SELF- DIAGNOSIS INDICATE X-RAY. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC5A03 PART # 270P704010 AND AN OPEN R5A73 82K ¼ WATT OFF PIN 2 OF IC5A02 ON THE MAIN PCB. 2. SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR INDICATES SHORT PROTECT. CHECK FOR OPEN FUSES F9A04 AND F9A05 PART # 283P043090 ON THE +24 AND -24 VOLT LINES. IF THE FUSES ARE OPEN THE CONVERGENCE OUTPUT CIRCUIT WOULD BE SUSPECT. 3. SELF-DIAGNOSIS INDICATES SHORT PROTECT. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC4B01 PART # 270P261020 (VERTICAL OUTPUT) LOADING 24-VOLT SUPPLY LINE. LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB. Good Luck, big IRISH, ps; or call an authorized service center and ask them to give an estimate before you decide to repair.

Have a Panasonic Projection TV PT-47wx51c. It is currently shutting it self off, then the red light in the front blinks and can not be turned back on until it is un-plugged. Just befor it shuts itself...

can you determine if the led blinks a certain amount of times then a slight pause before blinking again? Let me know as it may be blinking a diagnostic code.

My Sony tv CRT

If it's between 5-10 secs, that's normal. You will turn the tv on and hear a loud (buzz/hum) that is the picture tube firing up, once it's fired up, it has a few more seconds until your picture comes up fully. That is about 5-10 secs from pushing the power button.

If it's taking longer than that, your picture tube may be going out.

I had a 36XBR250 and it took about 10 secs to fire up and show a picture, and it was 5 1/2 years old.
