Did your guest perhaps log in to your router and make some changes? If so, I recommend you press the "reset" button on the router and re-set it up.

How can I remove my neighbor from my network

Easiest thing to do, Change the password to your router. Once this is done, it will prevent your neighbor from any further access to your router and of course prevent internet access. Most all routers are simply a local web address for access. Example: typed inside a browser address pane will take you inside the router. Check your router for setup procedures.

Have a great night..

Want to put lock on guest

Linksys E series routers can broadcast 2 wireless networks. First one is the main wireless network which is secured wireless network.
The second network is a guest network which will always show you unsecured.
It will never show you secured and you can not make it secured.
However it has a web based security.
Anyone can connect to the guest network but will not be able to access Internet without Guest access password.
In other words there is a security.
You can disable guest access also.

We have a guest at our home who wants to use her computer. When she tries to log on it says she needs a password. When I use my laptop there is no pasword request, I just go straight onto the internet?...

It could be that your wireless router has security enabled and doesn't allow "strangers" to connect to the network in your home.

If you can't recall a specific password you might've used to set up the router, try going to the Administrator page and see if the password is there.

I'm not familiar with the DI-514 specifically, but generally you can go to a computer that connects to your network properly, open a web browser and type in the URL box. That's a generic IP address that many wireless routers use. If that doesn't work, try This will take you to an administrator screen. If neither of these work, you'll need to check your manual (Dl-514 Manual) for the correct way to get to the Administrator screen.

When you get to the Admin screen, you enter the user name and password of the administrator for the wireless router. Unless you changed the user name and password when you set the router up, it should be "admin" and the password is empty.

Again, I'm not familiar with the DI-514 specifically, but you can then look around at security and/or password settings to see what the password might be.

In some cases you might have a specific type of security set up on your router like something called "WPA". If this is the case look around for a "key". This key will be a bunch of letters and numbers, and it will need to be entered exactly the same way (cap letters and all) into your guests' computer when asked.

Good luck! Remember to rate the solutions!

Westel 327W no longer accessing VPN

It sounds like your company has changed some settings for access into thier local intranet. Your IT guy will have to figure out what's wrong, becuase he would be the one with the knowledge of your companies settings. Perhaps they changed the shared-key, or something in the security settings.

Another note: If you have recently changed/upgraded any installations of firewalls or internet security software, check to make sure it's not blocking any of the IP address or ports you need open to access your company network.
