Since i dont have your model number it makes it tough to be sure. but you have one of three issues happening. if its a front loading washer the the door lock my not be engaging. if you cant open the door then you are probably ok on that.

2. The drain pump is either clogged or the drain pump has failed.

3. check to be sure water is on, you may be hearing the water inlet valve on the machine as it is trying to work. change your water temperature setting and see if that will help.

Sounds like something is jammed and overloading the machine. Check for locked motor.

When I push the start button the sensing light turns green and the lid locks and turns red but it makes a hum sound and nothing happens. Please help

The hum you hear is the water inlet valve solenoid trying to open and is probably stuck. Replace the valve and you should me good to go. Here is the part to order.

The part comes with a 365 day, any part, any reason return policy.

MY GE front loader washer won't fill with water or spin. I hear a hum when I turn it on and it sounds as if it's about to start a cycle but nothing happens.

It sounds as if your water valve is either clogged or the solenoid is stuck and not letting any water in. Here is a checklist of things you should do to help isolate the problem:
1) check to make sure the water is on
2) turn the water off and remove the water lines and verify that both the lines and the screens on the valve are clear of debris, calcium, etc.
3) take the top off the machine where you can actually see the valve, turn the machine on and see if the vavle is the humming noise that you are hearing. If so and no water is coming out then the valve is bad.

I have an asko w6021 washing machine that won't run. All it does is when the power on button is pushed, and nothing else, it makes a humming sound almost like it's in the middle of the wash cycle. Also you...

Open the hatch at the bottom left of the unit. If there is water still is machine, remove the drain hose and drain machine. Open the drain pump and check for foreign objects, make sure that the rotor spins freely and that there is nothing holding it. This will prevent the machine from working properly

Push start and motor hums, but nothing else works.

Hi, If you release the start button, does the hum stop? It sounds like hte start winding in the motor is bad. You can try and start it manualy by truning the timer on, open the door so that you can turn the drum with your hand. You will need anoth person there so that one of you can hold the door switch button in and the other push the start button. While pushing the start button, try turning the tub and see if it starts. This will give you an idea on the motor bad or not.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you need any more assistance.

Thanks
Vic

When you push start button, it makes noise but won't start.

This is a A.C. hum that you are hearing. this is a warning sign. You are experiencing motor failure. the actual windings inside of the motor are losing their potential to hold an even current due to breakage. the shutdown is a safety feature built in the control panel to prevent electrical spark/fire.
