I used to have 2 laundromats full of this model. I think you may be looking at the fill hoses...they are on the rear with hose bib threads... the drain hose is about 1" diameter hose coming out low on the back side. The drain hose goes inside the machine and attaches directly to the pump... If the 2 pipes close together are connected directly on the rear panel of the machine, those are the fill hoses and should be labeled with a C and H ...

Would it be possible for you to post a photo? .. If not, no worries.. I've not heard of 2 drains, but I'm researching..
You can very easily access the inside by removing the front cover. Then you could get a visual on where those 2 pipes are connected.
If you want to remove the front cover, simply remove the 2 phillips screws that are in the bottom corners of the front panel in the kickplate area.. Once the screws are out, all you need to do is tip the bottom edge forward and it will release the top edge from the retainer clips (very easy to reinstall too.
Once open, look at the front right corner. You'll see the pump. One drain should be hooked there... I'm very curious to see what you find.. Please let me know in a reply.

The wall box outlet probably is about 1-1/2 in. in diameter. If it was snaked clear then there may be blockage in the main sewer line. In my case, there is a 90 degree bend that gets blocked periodically and causes the washing machine discharge to back up

I have an old home that has a very space drain pipe. I bought a new Maytag top load washing machine. The drain pipe is too large for the drain pipe. 2 plumbers have told me the drain pipe will have to...

Whirlpool now own Maytag and with a W/P top load machine there is an adaptor which reduces the diameter of the drain hose. Not knowing the diameters of your drain hose, or the plumbing of your house, I can't say for sure that this is a remedy. However it's worth trying. Contact a Whirlpool stockist and see if the adaptor is the correct size for your new Maytag. Or you may be able to drain the new machine into a laundry tub which then flows into the house drain. This is a normal way of 'taking up the slack'.
I'm surprised your plumbers didn't suggest it.
Good luck Nomess

Broken drain pipe under washer tub

Well,i wouldn't solder the old pipe back on.You could replace the pipe or replace the tub entirely. But you're looking at about the same price to repair an old machine for the price of buying a new one.techs come at about $50 per hour and you're looking at about an 8 hour day to repair it.a new machine should run you about $ 400 to $ 500.

Washer less than a year old. Top loading. Will

Have you moved recently, or moved the washer for any reason?

Two things can usually cause that.

First, Some part of the drain hose must always be higher than the highest possible water level in the machine. Remember that water flows downhill. If all the hose is lower then the highest possible water level the machine can never fill since water will drain out hose. So, raise the hose higher than the flat top of the washer and try again.

2A, Inserting the drain hose too far into the house drain. or 2B, sealing out ALL air in the drain line by using a hose too tight in the drain pipe or taping the drain pipe tightly with the drain hose in it can both create a vacuum in the drain line which will actually **** out all the water in the tub. This can be tested by pulling the drain all the way out and aiming it into the tub as you try it. Good Luck.

Maytag floods when it drains

If the flooding is from hose and joint in the drain system, or from the drain pump, then it is the machine.

If instead, as it looks, it is a return from the drain pipes on the wall, then the problem concerns your house drain line, in that case it is a plumber job.

Ensure that the leak is not from inside the machine, if it is not anything from the machine, then call the plumber.
