Question about Jenn-Air JGR8850 Gas Kitchen Range

Jenn-Air Gas Slide-in Range mdl JGS9900BDB: The solution I received was to replace the control board, which I did; no difference. The same problem persists with the new board. That is, The display is limited to the time and the only buttons that work are the two center top keys (timer 1 and timer 2). The numbers key pad beeps but doesn't change the display. All the other keys are dead. Please help.

    I've checked all electrical connections I could find. No difference. Can you help me pin point where the connection problem might be? Thanks.

    I dug into the range further and found that an assembler in the factory failed to run two red wires from the control board to the meat probe through a hole in a nearby box with the rest of the wires. Instead, the assembler clamped the wires under the cover to the metal box under the lid which, over time, cut through the insulation on both wires, thus "grounding" or shorting them out. Would that have been enough to blow out my control board? I've since repaired the wires and am waiting for another control board, assuming I've fixed the problem that led to the board's failure. What do you think?

    Thanks for the guidance. I am hoping the next control board (on back order) I install will, in fact, work. I'm optimistic!

Hi ,you will need to replace control panel part # w10206073 cost about $175 and is currently on national back order,try making sure the ribbon connector between the panel and board is tight and clean.Hope this helps. Please rate my response :)

    I am pretty sure that board would be toast from those shorted wires.

I have a jenn-air electric down draft slide in range. I had a power outage and now stove top works fine but no display or oven functions not even oven light.

You will need to replace the control board (clock assembly) on your unit. I see this all the time with power surges and it takes the control board out. Your model is a discontinued one and the part may need to be a special order. Here is a link to the part, call the number that is on the page and I am sure they may get it for you.

Main micro-processor, clock control defective, replace clock control or it power supply board. It's recommended to replace power supply & control if this unit has the two on seperate boards.

Jenn-air gas range JGS 8850 ADW has F1-8 error code but usually self corrects not seems to not be correcting what do i need to replace

Most of the time the solder on the control board brake because of the heat from the oven. Just remove the board and redo all bad solder. Sp?ciale the connector one.

Jenn Air SVE47600b dead touch panel and blower runs constantly

I have had similar problems:
Display was the Part # 71001799 circuit board..$175+labor
Oven blower problem was control relay board, part# 12001689...$224+labor
My solution. replace with non-Jenn Air.
Check Consumer Reports. Jenn Air has high repair history.

Below I pasted the fault codes for the two different years of this range.

To diagnose these difference you will need a hands on tech !
this is not an easy thing to determine


Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes
Condition Check/Repair F1 Defective touch pad or membrane Replace touch pad or membrane (this problem is usually the touch pad)

'Newer Style' Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes

Condition Check/Repair F1 Power to element relay energized during time of day display Wiring harness shorted or change power relay board (PRB)

Note: for double ovens, change second oven board

Electronic Display

Further inspection found that the ribbon got damaged during the re-instalation of the clock board. A new front control board had to be ordered and installed.
