Question about Homelite Consumer Products Backpack Blower/Vac, Carb

1 Answer

I have a Homelite UT08580 26cc MightyLite Backpack Blower. Since new it has run poorly if at all when the choke is in the run position. Normally I have to use it when in the 1/2 choke position. It has caps on the carb mixture adustments, otherwise I would be adjusting the high speed mixture richer. What can I do?

Put on my bifocals and discovered the mixture adjust screws weren't capped, just round with a little notch in them. I cut a piece of 1/4" tube, put over the adjust and gave both the high and low speed a half turn. For the first time since new out of the box it runs like it should.

If you have'nt yet you should put a kit in the carborater,if that does'nt fix it{should} then you may have a plugged muffler,.if you can't get rid of exhaust you can't be reved up.

I have the MightyLite 26bv....will only run at half choke. When turn knob to run, it dies. Does not reach full power ever.

The parts inside the carburetor need to be replaced (gasket and diaphragm kit) and/or the L and H screws need to be adjusted on the carb. Try grasping and turning the L mixture screw on the carburetor (one closest to engine) about 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn counterclockwise.

I can start the lef blower in choke mode but can not move it to run mode with out the blower stopping.

Carb needs adjusting. Turn low side out half turn. If that doesn't do it, time to rebuild or replace carb.

My homelite might lite 26b will run in the choke position but cuts off in the run position. I have drained the gas and put in fresh gas, new plug and opened the carburetor and cleaned it.

if it seems low on power, remove the muffler and clean out all carbon build-up,if it has power as in full throttle, then the carb is still dirty and needs to be rebuilt

I have a homelite model uto8550 26cc mighty blower/vac. On initial startup it runs at half choke then stalls when i turn it to run. Any suggestions?

1. check fuel filter in gas tank (for clogged condition).
2. Check carb jet for dirt (squirt carb cleaner in jet and fuel inlet

Summary: your carb is not getting enough fuel to mix properly with constant air flow. Therefore, fuel supply needs to be cleaned... then you will run happy!!
