Metrologic 9520 help...Please

Power outage caused my scanners to not work...The manual is very confusing to me...As of now it only scans short bar codes...Please Help...I own a retail store if that helps on where to look in the manual, in order to reprogram the scanners to read longer bar codes...Let me know if this might be a communication error with cash register and scanner?
Thanks Very much. Dennis

Is it 13 digit barcodes you are trying to scan?
Also, does the cable go straight into your till (straight cable) or is it connected to you keyboard via a wedge?

Metrologic ms9520 not scanning UPC's

Hello.

The issue is likely due to the programming (or the lack of) of the scan gun. It is entirely possible that the UPC bar code is not configured in your gun as a valid bar code.

You can remedy this by programming the scan gun to recognize the UPC bar code (and any other bar codes you may need to scan). Use the link below to download the programming guides for this scan gun.

Hope this helps!

Bar Codes The MS7120 can be configured by scanning the bar codes located in the MetroSelect® Single-Line Configuration Guide. This manual is available for download at http://www.honeywellaidc.com/site.aspx/na/en/product_center/product_support/?category=5&product=297

Hooked scanner up to new computer. Reads bar code

It sounds like you are connecting to a serial port and you are trying to scan into a program that needs keyboard data. Download the "Softwedge" program from the Metrologic website.

The last digit should be a parity Digit (used for error checking)

you may be able to clear this using the settings barcodes in the user manual

Can't even start Metrologic voyager 9520

The MS9520 with RS232 needs the AC adapter plugged in to operate, the adapter plugs into the serial cable at the plastic "bulge". Cable part number is 53000c-3
Hope this helps, Terry @ TAG Technical INC

My RS-232 scanner beeps at the bar code but nothing appears on-screen.

The "Beep" just means that the scanner has been presented with a valid barcode. (nothing more) The scanner has probably not been set up correctly as this is a common issue. the settings need to be set correctly for your environment. you should have a code book with some bar codes in (part of the manual) which can set all the options within the scanner, There is an option to recall defaults here is the electronic manual ftp://ftp.metrologic.com/pub/download/productmanuals/00-02544.pdf
