Our Acer Aspire-One, model D260, cannot find wireless connections, even though other laptops in the house access them. the ACER is only 1 week old, and has worked fine until now.

1. Open the Start Menu.

A) Click on All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and System Restore.

2. Open the Control Panel (All Items View).

A) Click on the Recovery icon.
B) Click on the Open System Restore button.

A 'System Restore' window will appear. Here you will have to check "Restore computer to an earlier time'

A) Click on the Next button

Now you will find a window with Dates, Description and Type,

Note: It is better if you could remember from which date you are facing the issue, try to select a date prior to that date.

The detail of that particular date should show "System Checkpoint" and time on the right hand side box. Select that date.

Now, Click on Next and System Restore will start. Click on the Finish button and windows will take a reboot

It appears that an associated program called netframe was installed with the program you installed and may be causing this fault.

Go to the link below and type as much information you can about the problem and such.
Then follow the prompts to repair the program or it may require other steps to perform.

Another option that can remove the installed software would be system restore.
This is done by going to the Windows program, "Accessories", and
selecting the "tools" menu, in the list of tools select, "System Restore".
A popup window will appear, to restore your computer to an earlier date
prior to when you installed the software. You will no loose any files you may
have created, but it will remove programs install after the restore date you select.

As the computer boots up, press F8 and run in safe mode when the screen pops up. I recommend more over using a command line scanner to identify and kill the hijacker (suggest DR WEB CURE IT)
free and effective

Start up and desktop icons missing

Hi,

This could happen due to various reasons like :
1. Any recent update done.
2) Virus infected
3) Windows missing/corrupted files.

There are several steps to resolve the issue.

Try one after another and check if that fixes the issue.

Step 1

Try this Fix
Click on the Download link and install the Fix No. 195 ( Restore Desktop Icons and Taskbar )
Download Link

Step 2

Press CTRL-ALT-DEL to bring Task Manager.
Click on New Task and type appwiz.cpl and click OK
This will re-run add/remove programs.
Remove/Uninstall all new program you installed before having this problem, Also remove the Windows XP Hotfix
Restart your PC.
The access to the taskbar , icons will all come back and Install a new Antivirus.

Step 3
If None of the above steps work, try a System Restore to previous date

Click START - All Programs - ACCSESSORIES - System Tool - System Restore
Choose the date before the system started giving trouble. ( The Date will be in bold ( highlighted ) which indicates the system can be restored to that date with all the settings on that date )

*Note : Doing system restore will uninstall any software/program you have installed from the date you choose the system restore till current date, However it will not delete any files created )

Hope this is helpful.

Xp pro sp2 desktop icons have become mere links without any program / application skins" . Have been opening program from start menu. pls help!!!!

Hi,

It sounds like you have a virus infecting the computer.

I recommend that you attempt to restore the system to an earlier date before the problems occurred.

If you click on the start menu and click on run, type rstrui.exe and hit the enter key.

System restore will pop up, choose a date that your comfortable with and see if you can restore the system.

If you experience any difficulty please post back.

Good luck.

Icons on desktop cannot be open when clicking

There may be a virus or accidentally changed something that distorted you computer's settings but you can always use the system restore feature to restore your last working settings. You will be needed to select a date you want to restore from. start>programs>accessories>system tools>system restore. BUT FIRST!! Create a restore point for this date then select a restoration point since it's working well. This will not make changes to your current documents only the system settings. Did this work?

Computer keeps restarting itself

If you are running XP, try starting in the Safe Mode. To access this, at AC power on, start tapping the F8 key; this should bring up a short text menu that gives you the Safe Mode option. If F8 doesn't work, try F5.
If you can get your desktop, open the Start menu, then All programs, then Accessories, then System Tools, then System restore.
If you have had your Restore feature turned on (it is by default) you chouls be offered the chance to restore your system to an earlier date. These will be shown on a calendar in bold if there are earlier backups available
Choose a date a couple of days before your fuse blew. This restore routine does not lose any work of yours, but essentially checks and replaces corrupt system files and your settings before the roof fell in.

Just bought an acer aspire ax1200-b1581a.it worked fine for a few days now it will pop up there was a problem with the internet and shut the itnernet down,it started out going blue screen and at the bottom...

I think the problem is related to virus. Try restoring your PC to an earlier date 9 a date when it worked fine). You do this from Start-> Programs -> Accesories -> System Tools -> System Restore. Select
Restore my computer to an earlier time and Click Next. A date calender will appear, select the preferred date and click Next twice. The system will automatically restart when restoration is done.

If u are not abe to run System Restore then you need to enter safe mode by pressing F8 during booting and selecting Safe Mode from the menu that appears. In safe mode you will be asked a question, you have to select no, and system restore will start

If restoring your pc does not solve the problem then you may need to reinstall your OS.
