Take a look inside your camera's CF card slot. I suspect that you may have a bent pin in there. If so, don't fret. Although professional repair would be more costly than the value of the camera, there is a very good chance that you can repair this yourself. Please see this link.

It sounds memory card is defective and preventing camera to turn ON.
Check camera with another memory card or try this memory card in another Canon camera to confirm it.

Powershot a80 does not turn on

Things to check first are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Details on what needs to be checked may be seen here. It won't work for every case, but it's worth a try.

Pictures names

First - be sure to copy all your pictures from the camera's memory card to your computer.

Second - using the camera's menus, reformat your memory card.

It's adding the _2 suffix to the filename because it thinks there's already a picture on the memory card with that name.

Try performing a "format" on the card. That should wipe out any bad data that is confusing to your camera.

My Canon PowerShot A80 Digital Camera on and then off

If the E18 error code comes along with unusual noises while moving the lens, there may be a problem with the mechanics. Just tap the camera on a solid surface a few times. I had the same problem and tapping helped just fine.

So camera doesn't give live view to take picture? and you can view old / stored  pictures OK, is it?
If yes, then it is problem of CCD imager in Canon A80 and this part needs to be replaced.
