Question about Linksys WRT610N Wireless Router

1 Answer

The power light on my WRT610N router will not stop blinking, and will not allow me to do anything with it in this condition. I recently did a firmware update that must have went bad. I tried all of the steps to reset it but no luck.

Take a look at your router, some where on the router usualy on the back or underneath there is a little hole it should have the words reset near it. Press the button with a paper clip or something small enough to get in there. Make sure the router is powered on, while doing this press and hold the reset button untill all the lights start blinking on the router then let go of the button usualy takes about 8 to 10 seconds this may or may not fix your problem if it dosn't i suggest you going get another router the router is most likely fried.

It's probably because the WRT610N is a piece of junk that can't maintain a link for more than a few minutes. I have learned the hard way to AVOID Cisco/Linksys products for consumers because they are dumbed down and generally defective.

Google around: this is a common problem. The WRT610N IS DEFECTIVE.

I had a power shutdown and after my Cisco E1000 router suddenly stopped working. All the lights just completly froze (not blinking) just froze and i dont know what to do. Any help would be greatly app

Try resetting the router to factory defaults. With power on the router, hold the reset button in for 15 seconds, it'll be reset to factory defaults.

Try this at least 5 times before giving up!

Hope this helps!

I have linskys router WRT610N VI an can not remember password

on the back of the router, there is small pinhole. use a pin or anything not too pointed to press that and reset your router. Press and hold it for at least 20 - 30 seconds or wait for your router lights to switch off then on again. That is an indication that you have successfully reseted your router to factory settings.
Just a reminder though, you will lose all your current settings and security for the router.

I have WGT624 v2 used for years and in a pretty good condition. Unfortunately, it suddenly doesn't work recently. No internet connection at all. The power LED light keep blinking and the color change...

Step 1 With the unit on, place a paper clip into the hole on the back on the unit labeled Reset.

Step 2 Hold paper clip down for 10 seconds and release.

Note: Do not repower unit during this procedure.

Step 3 The unit will reboot on its own. Once the WLAN light stops blinking, the unit is reset.

Resetting the router does not reset the firmware to an earlier version. It will change all settings back to factory defaults.

Note: The factory defaults username is admin, and there is no password.

WRT610n router power led light blinks and i cant

If the power light is blinking on the router , then it might not be working properly.
You will need to press the reset button on the back side of the router for 30 seconds. release it. unplug the power cable. plug it back in. wait for a minute and check if the power light is solid.
If not then try to reset the router again.
do the same thing and check if the power light is solid.

If the power light is solid then you will need to set up the router again.
If the power light is still blinking, then connect the computer to the router and check the IP address on the computer. If the IP address is then try to open the set up page of the router and check the settings of the router.
