Canon MX860 drivers for Mac OS X 10.6.2

I purchased a Canon MX860 12/08/09 still unpacked, spent hours reading horror stories about connecting to Mac OS X 10.6.2 which I have installed. I will set up using USB only. There are conflicting reports on best method and if there still is a compatibility issue with Mac OS and the driver(s) to be used. And where the driver(s) should come from... the
Canon disk, on line via - Apple Software Update, or Canon's site or should I just bite the bullet and return the printer? I have had two other Canon printers and would like to keep this one if it possible but I don't want to be forever getting it to work! Never used Facebook.

Can not get my cx6400 to print from my mac

You need a MAC driver disk or download.

If you don't have a disk, you can download the driver from the Epson site. I've added the direct links to the relevant downloads below, providing your Mac is connected to the internet.

These drivers are only for the Epson CX6400 on Macintosh operating systems.

If you are using version Mac OS 7.6 to 9.2, here's a direct link to the driver download: http://esupport.epson-europe.com/ProductHome.aspx?lng=en-GB&data=SF8cgjsfr7Nsto14LFsNUjuRSXBZZOHy&tc=6

If you are using Mac OS X - Intel, here's the direct link: http://esupport.epson-europe.com/ProductHome.aspx?lng=en-GB&data=SF8cgjsfr7M6qoJ6uYEojoMzz9oApk7e5aobGaUtdawU003D&tc=6

If you are using Mac OS X - PowerPC, here's the direct link: http://esupport.epson-europe.com/ProductHome.aspx?lng=en-GB&data=SF8cgjsfr7Prg898nyvz3fMP+q1RgJB+&tc=6

Once you've downloaded the driver, it may be a ZIP file so unpack it where you can find it and double click the setup.exe file or program icon that unpacked.

This will install the drivers to your Mac computer.

You'll be asked to make sure the printer is plugged in and connected to the computer at some stage so that it can communicate with it and complete the installation.

Good luck

Mac Intel OX 10.5.5 drivers not loading and working

I had this same problem with my MacBook Pro Intel notebook running the latest Mac OS. I went to the OKI web site ( http://my.okidata.com/pp-C5200n.nsf/openingdrivermenu?OpenFrameSet ) and downloaded the OKI C5000 GDI Intel driver. I followed the install instructions to load the driver. Next, I went to system preferences and selected printers. Then I selected the + button under printers. My current printers showed up on the list. I then selected "More Printers" and the other drivers loaded on my Mac were listed. One option was OKI USB. I selected this option THEN I plugged my USB cable from the OKI into my Notebook. The computer recognized the printer. I hit Save and I proceeded to print my first document. FYI: I spent several hours trying to get this thing to work yesterday with the USB cable already plugged in. I don't know why it would not work. This worked for me. Good luck.
