OK i will assist you through this (where you have any difficulty comeback i am always here) First take off the docking device, is power up on battery power if No power up AC next power up the docking device. Second Reset power. cheers

You have to go to hp website www.hp.com/#support go to start control panal and click on sound make sure that it is not muted ,if not remove and reboot computer and vista should reinstall sound drivers

Bought new power cord for pavillon dv 1000 and


If the laptop runs on batter but cannot run on the AC adapter, you have a broken DC Jack. If you laptop cannot power up with the battery or flash low battery indicator, you laptop is dead.

You cant. Unless you create them yourself. HP will only allow back up disks to be created once. HP sucks. Sorry. You may try Best Buy's Geeksquad..they may have ones that they have backed up.

1) plug YOUR power adapter into your friends hp dv1000, see if it turns on laptop.on. If yes, then u have one less problem.
2) to trouble shoot a laptop takes a lot of skill, stuff is very small, things could be damaged just by pulling the wrong way. you would HAVE TO BE very carefull.
Look for the trouble shooting manual 1st. or find a good technical person.
