Do you mean
m=n/5 That is m=n divided by 5
Multiply both sides by 5
5m = n
which is the sme as n=5m

### Calculate percentage increase

Percentage change = (new value -old value)/old value * 100%
If result is positive it is an increase. If it is negative it is a decrease
Here
%increase=(500-5)/5*100=9900 %

### Whats a median

The median of a finite list of numbers can be found by arranging all the observations from lowest value to highest value and picking the middle one (e.g., the median of {3, 5, 9} is 5). If there is an even number of observations, then there is no single middle value; the median is then usually defined to be the mean of the two middle values. It is similar to an average. or a root mean square value (RMS).

### Future value

When you buy it is worth \$60, 000
I will assume that at the end of a year it is the whole new value of the house that is increased by 5%.
After 1 year value=60,000*(1+0.05)^1
After 2 years value=\$60,000(1+0.05)*(1+0.05)=60,000*(1.05)^2
Do you see the pattern?
After 7 years, the value of the house will be 60,000*(1.05)^7

However if the increase is not compounded
Then after 1 year value=60,000*(1+0.05)
After 2 years, value=60,000*(1+0.05+0.05)=60,000*(1+2*0.05)
After 7 years, value=60,000*(1+7*0.05)

Depending on the coumpounding or not the two values will be different
With compounding: final value=\$84,426.02
Without compunding: final value is \$81, 000.

I showed you the possible mathematical solutions. It is now up to you to decide which is the one that applies to your case.

### Why /5/=5 and /-5/=5?

Those are absolute value signs. Absolute value is defined as a number's distance from 0. So both 5 and -5 are a count of 5 away from 0 therefore the absolute value of both 5 and -5 would be 5.

### Determine if (5/6,-2) is a solution to -6x-7y=9

OK, you just have to put those values into the equation, do the math, and see if it works.

-6 * 5/6 - 7 * (-2) = 9 does it?

-5 - (-14) = -5 + 14 = 9 yes it does

You can (and probably should) always check a solution by testing this way. The definition of a solution is a value or set of values that cause the equation to work out. If the test had failed (say we had gotten -6 = 9 before, which is obviously wrong), we'd know that the values weren't a solution.

### -3/5x-8 what is the value of x when y=-11

The following solution shows how to find the value of x:

y = -(3/5)x - 8

Substitute the known value of y:
-11 = -(3/5)x - 8

-11 + 8 = -(3/5)x - 8 + 8
-3 = -(3/5)x

Now multiply both sides by 5 to get rid of the denominator:
-3 * 5 = -(3/5)x * 5
-15 = -3x

Now divide by -3 to get x:
-15/3 = -3x/3
x = 5

The answer is x = 5.

### I can't find how to graph absolute value function.

Hello,
Here how you do it taking as exemples y1=x^3 -5 and y2=abs(x^3-5)
Turn calculator ON by pressing [AC/On] . Use arrows to select [Graph] icon and press [EXE]
On line Y1= enter X[^]3 -5 [EXE]
On line Y2= press [OPTN] [F5:NUM][F1:abs] [(] X [^]3 -5 [)] [EXE]
The graphs will be drawn one after the other. You might have to adjust the window limits.
Here is an ouput drawn on another calculator.

For negative values of the x-variable, Y1 has negative values, while in the same range, Y2 has positive values, equal and opposite to those of Y1. In that range, Y1 and Y2 are symetric of each other with respect to the X axis.
For positive values of the x-variable, Y1 and Y2 are identical.

Hope it helps
