Hi,
From what I understand you want to draw statistical graphs (scatter plot, box plot, etc.) If you do not see anything it may be due to the fact that the statistical plots are turned off.

Type in the data in lists L1 and L2, etc. Press [2nd][QUIT]

Press [2nd][Y=] (STAT PLOT] . Select [4:PlotsOff] [ENTER] .
Screen displays Done

Press [2nd][Y=] (STAT PLOT] . Select [1:Plot1 Off].

  1. The configuration screen for Plot1 opens with the cursor blinking ON.
  2. Press [ENTER] to turn Plot1 ON.
  3. Use Down Arrow to move cursor to second line Type:
  4. Select the type of statistical plot. Use the right arrow to move highlight on one of the 6 types.
  5. Select the type:scatter, Xline, histogram, box plot, and press [ENTER] to validate the choisce.
  6. Use down arrow to select the Xlist: use [2nd][1] to choose L1, etc. and press [ENTER]
  7. Select the Y-List (L2) and validate by pressing [ENTER]
  8. Select the data-point mark.
  9. Press [GRAPH].
If you do not see the graph or if it is not well centred, press [ZOOM][9:ZoomStat] to restrict the screen to the data entered.

Hope it helps.
Thank you for rating the solution.

How do you get the table ([2ND GRAPH]) from the [STAT] [EDIT] [L1] [L2] list to appear with [Y1] in the second the column? The information appears in the scatter plot, but the information in the table does...

Instead of hitting the [table] button. You should hit the [stat] or [stats] button as I forget which it is. Then hit [enter] which will bring you to a stats list editor of some kind. You will want to enter the data for your x-axis in L1 and the data for your y-axis in L2. Once you have completed your lists, hit the [stat] button again and then click [right] or the right arrow in order to move to the section of calc. from number 4 down it will help create a graph of that type of function. lets say you think it is linear, so you hit [enter] on number 4 and then you will be at the home screen with LinReg already written. You just have to complete the statement and it will do it for you. hit the [2nd] [1] and then the comma button, then [2nd] [2] and [enter]. that will do it for you.

The X-Values in the Table for a graph wont reset, i have deleted the equation and there is no graph plotted, however they wont disappear. Also, i tried accessing the X on the top of the table, and it did...

What are you trying to do? You drew a graph, then you cleared the function graphed and went to the table to see if the X values have disappeared and they did not.Right?

By pressing the [SHIFT][(TABLE) key you were in fact commanding the calculator to generate a table for a function but you did not supply (nothing in Y= editor), and the calculator faithfully obeyed you. It looked at the Xmin of the window, looked at the Xscl factor and generated a blank table that contains all the X-Coordinates (where your function or table would have been calculated had you entered a valid expression in the Y= editor). That is how it works.

When I go to TABLE, the Y part won't show up?

Press [2nd][+] (MEM)
Select [4:ClrAllLists]
Press [ENTER]

Now you are ready to create a table from the expression of a function.

Press [Y=] to open the function editor.
On line Y1= enter the expression of the function
Press [2nd][GRAPH] (TABLE) to create your table
You will see two lists X, and Y1.

If your table is not generated from the expression of a function, but from raw experimental data, you use the [STAT][1:Edit] key sequence to open the Lists L1 to L6 and populate the two you want.
