Plug in your mp3player.
Open My Computer.
Open a file named Kosch or something.
Look in Music and see if there is files.
If you cannot see any, go back and format "Kosch"
Or format it using just your mp3player.

Hope that helped.

My gpx mw240s says error and i cannot play any music. What else should i try doing?

If your GPX MW240S MP3 player is displaying an error message and not playing any music, there are a few things you can try to fix the issue:
  1. Reset the player: Sometimes resetting the MP3 player can fix the error. To reset the GPX MW240S, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, release the button, and then turn the player back on.
  2. Check the music files: Ensure that the music files you are trying to play are in a compatible format with the GPX MW240S. The player supports MP3 and WMA formats, and if your files are in a different format, they will not play. You can convert the files using a free online converter.
  3. Update the firmware: If the player's firmware is outdated, it may cause errors while playing music. You can update the firmware by downloading the latest version from the GPX website and following the instructions.
  4. Check the storage space: If the MP3 player's memory is full, it may cause errors. Delete some files from the player to free up space.
If none of these solutions work, there may be a hardware issue with the player, and it may need to be repaired or replaced.

Wont do nothing but initializing

Hi.

The procedure below is the full troubleshooting when the RCA Opal is completely irresponsive and not completing initialization.

Try first holding down the Power/Menu button for over ten seconds. This is called soft reset, and will reset the player to default factory settings. This reset will not delete personal files.

Depending on the model you may also have a reset button. In that case hold down the pinhole switch using a paper clip for more than ten seconds to perform an hard reset. It will take one or two minutest to restart the Opal after this reset, as files must be reinstalled. This reset will delete files and personal settings.

If that does not work, it means that system files are damaged. In that case you will need to reinstall the Opal firmware. Firmware for some model may be available online, but better calling or contacting RCA and asking them to provide you with an updated firmware for your unit. If the wrong firmware is installed the Opal may result damaged.
RCA can be contacted at the number listed on Opal documentation. Number in US should be: 1-800-878-5779 (RCA Audio Products Repair Centers and Warranty Info).

You can also get the firmware asking a question online. Use the following link: Create an Incident or ask a question.

See also: Information on RCA Opal M4001 MP3 Player.

To update firmware follow procedure below:

Download the firmware upgrade file.
Hold down the play/pause button for about twenty seconds .
Hold down menu button for more than 10 seconds
Keep holding play/pause button and attach Opal USB cable to computer at the same time.
The firmware upgrade will start
If you get an error saying that Windows cannot write to the Opal drive, that means that the Opal internal drive must be re-formatted. In that case go to Computer, click the right button of mouse on the Opal, and choose Format from the dropdown menu.
After formatting, restart both units, and restart firmware upgrade procedure.

Regards.

Ok just fixed mine by pushing pin into reset hole. Hold play button turn zen v back on format player. yes you will lose your data but its better than buying a new mp3 player. download zen firmware update plug player in and update. This problem is caused by a corrupted file so the only way to fix it is full formate.

MP3 has a full memory with only 30 songs loaded

there should be an option to format the mp3 player. that will completely clear everything and reset it back to its original setup. the most likely reason for you only being able to put a few songs on is because of the size of the songs.

I can't put songs in my mp3 player every time i transfer a song it says " cannot copy or the directory or file cannot be created" i scanned it and my mp3 player seems to be ok the memory isn't half- full...

Triple Reset for Philips’ GoGear:

Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.
