Thank you for contacting us with regards to your model 600 Humidifier. The Change Water Panel indicator should flash when the control knob is set to the Test/Reset mode. The flashing indicates that the timer has been successfully reset. However, the humidifier should operate for the first 60 seconds of Test mode as long as your furnace is running. If your humidifier does not turn on, contact your installer. The humidifier may require service. We appreciate the opportunity to be of assistance. Sincerely,
Brett Phillips Technical Support Research Products Corporation
if it works in the test mode then it should be okay but you can get a humidity gauge from radio shack and set in the house to see how high or low its is. the humidifier is only going to give a max of 45% humidity
When your unit is on normal the outside unit works and the inside only the fan runs. your heat pump does not remove any humidity when it operates so the installation cotractor did not wire it to operate then. you can change the wiring on the humidifier to operate all the time by wiring it to the fan (g) terminal then it should work just turn it all the way to the lowest humidity when you are in cooling mode.
Your solenoid may have seized. The best way to check is remove the cover off the humidifier pad housing, remove the rubber tube of the distribution tray and see if water comes out while in the test mode. If you have a volt meter you can test to see if you have 24volts at the two wires connected to the solenoid. If you have 24volts there but no water ,the solenoid is bad if not you may have a bad humidistat or humidifier transformer depending on how it is wired.
check list 1.check the clamp on the pipe where water line connects is the hole clogged (water turned off)wont take long 2.Is water flowing all the way to resevoir after turnnig water on loosen line at reservoir 3.jiggle float water should enter the reservoir inlet to float valevel somestime cake up,clean float off 4.Remove pump cap clean impeller and standpipe 5.clean reservoir, and close everything up
Usually the hole in the pipe is clogged up in step 1 or the float is sticking if there is no evidence of water in the reservoir
