Kenwood kax-38 amp. distorted sound from turnatable if connected to the phono rca plugs, but ok if connected to the CD rca plugs.

The phono sockets for this are at different line levels for that reason. Phone is for the turntable depending on the type. If it is a later model stereo and an older model cheaper turntable, it uses an older type of needle cartridge called ceramic. The signal output of it is higher than the later magnetic cartridges and may need a preamp (radio shack) to match the line level signal, allowing it to clear the distortion. If this scenario were reversed, using an older cheaper stereo with a later, better quality turntable, the opposite would happen. (signal to low) This preamp would amplify the input. I think you need what is called a matcher to lower the input signal instead of the preamp. I've seen these at radioshack. BTW, the CD input doesn't distort as much because a cd player puts out a high signal and the amp is matched to accept it.

How do i hook up my amp and subs to my OEM stereo

Get a high level input conversion block pre-amp. Or, on some amps, the high level input is built in.

I have a KLH SW-90 amp. When I plug in the RCA plugs I don't get any sound to the Satelight speakers. Is this a sub amp? Do I need to hook up the high input wires to make the satelight speakers work?

I have the same amp. there a two ways to use it: The phono plug inputs are low level, are for use as an amplifier only, and their only output is the subwoofer output. In this case, any stereo satellite speakers would be driven directly from your stereo amp.
The high level inputs are meant to be driven as the same as speakers from your stereo amp. A circuit inside samples the bass and directs it to the sub amp and output. this same circut passes unamplified outputs to the satellite outputs. PM me at if you need further info.

PYLE PT2001X 3300 Watt Professional DJ Power.just had question about running this amp in bridged mode 4 ohms, here's some amp info 3300 watts total power bridged in 1 ch only.1650 each ch in stereo mode...

In bridge mode the minimum load will be 8 Ohm.
If you are using 4 Ohm speakers, it will mean you will give each side of the amplifier a 2 Ohm load.
Thats to much for this model.

Kind regards,

Hooking up system using HI-INPUT amp wires.

This may sound dumb, but are there any other inputs left on the amp? Most amps that i have worked with have a special set of inputs for high input. (by high input you mean speaker level right?) If those exist the obvious answer is to use those. They should be labeled, so just hook them up according to them. You may need a special adapter from the amp manufacturer. If you dont have any high level inputs or any not broken inputs left you have two options. You can either A: junk the amp or B: open it up and solder new connectors back on. (it sounds harder than it really is. There are four large pieces of metal to solder onto the board for a set of inputs)

Can the Pyle PLCD-42

Yes there is a couple possible ways.
1. Get 2 RCA Y adapters and split your Preamp Output you will not have any type of fader control this way because you are using a single output.

2. Run one amp from the radio with a set of RCA Cables.
Hook up amp #2 using a Line converter connected to the output of your stereo which will convert you to RCA the just run a cable to the amp..

3. If one of the amps has a High Level Input Run a set of speaker wires from the stereo outputs to the High level Input.
I personally prefer the above 2 methods I find Low Level input sounds better.

Hope this gives you some Ideas and helps

Trying to hook up amplifier to after market 6by 9 using factory radio

You can not connect the speaker lines directly to the RCA inputs of your amplifier. But you can connect them to your amplifier if your amp has a high level input. Most of the time it looks just like the speaker jacks of the amp, but smaller. It will be labeled high level input or speaker input. Sometimes an amplifier will have a jack for a wiring harness just for this purpose. Some amplifiers have them and some don't.

If your amplifier does not have them, you can purchase a line level adapter at most anyplace that installs car stereos. it converts the speaker level to the proper level of the RCA input.
Just follow the instructions on how to connect it.

If you try to connect the speaker outputs directly to the RCA input of the amplifier you will blow up the pre-amp in your amplifier.

I hope this was helpful to you, if so a good rating is always appreciated.

Thanks and let me know if you need more help.

OEM gm stereo

If your amplifier has what they call High level inputs (basically inputs on the amp that you run the speaker wires from your radio into), you can splice wires from where the connectors are on your rear speaker(s), still leaving the speaker hooked up, and use those as an input into the amp. If your amplifier does not have high level inputs, a convertor is available to turn an audio signal from your radio output speaker wires ( spliced in just as above, leaving the speaker hooked up), into an rca output jack. Or the best thing to do would be to buy another say 2-4 channel amp w/high level inputs and rca inputs and outputs, and run your rear speaker wires into the amp. Then you'll be able to run the rca cables out of that amp and into the sub amp, and you'll have the new amp to power your rear speakers or rears and fronts. That would be ideal. But, A convertor is your best bet. Got em at best buy, circuit city, etc. Hope this was helpful.

I believe that this model Sony amp includes High Level inputs. Those allow you to connect the normal speaker wires coming out of the factory stereo to the amp. If for some reason it doesn't include the inputs you can buy a high level to low lever converter that will give you rca from the factory unit.
