busy mode? First thing I would do is reset the camera. This is a fairly easy procedure which involves either going into your setup menu and choosing "reset," holding down the menu key for 5 seconds, or, removing the batteries for a few minutes. It may be that the firmware loading got corrupted and the camera just needs to be "rebooted," which is something that turning it on/off won't accomplish. But after which, you should have the camera reset to factory default settings.

I am having same problems with WinXP but driverguide.com has a driver download that may help with your vista problem. If you are not a premium member you will go through several ads, but if it fixes the problem it will be well worth it

for dxg 305v not working in windows vista I found the total solution to this problem. I am able to make my dxg 305v work in vista home premium addition now. To put it simple I bought a new computer with vista that also has a slot for the sd card that is in my dxg camera. If I should video or take pics on the camera, store it to the sd card and then place the sd card into the computer card reader-
-The pictures shot can be opened directly through the computer start menu choice (on the far right), then go to the icon for the sd card drive, then open the icon and appropriate folder containing the pictures on the memory card. then pics can be dragged and copied to the hard drive and opened up as any other photo picture file.
-The same thing can be done with the video files saved on the memory card, if you request that they be opening only with a free video player called divx, download it at http://www.divx.com/. No other vdeo player on the market, at least to what I have seen has the codex to open the video files except for divx.
I also did one other thing earlier. I have no idea if it assisted in the solution or not. I will probably never now. By chance from earlier on I went to http://dxgusa.helpserve.com/index.php?_m=downloads&_a=viewdownload&downloaditemid=24&nav=0
and downloaded the current driver available for the camera and all I can tell you is that this drive did not help in any way to get the computer to recognize the camera with the usb plug plugged in. Maybe it helped with the sd card being readable. I'm not sure.
