Check the primary and secondary resistance on the coil. When a coil starts to go it will short out when it gets hot. Also check any temp soleniods you may have to make sure they are good

After highway driving for 2 hours and stopping for gas the car would initially start and then stall, it would run again until the car cooled for 30 minutes.

Sounds like your coolant level might be low. At highway speed you probably have enough coolant and with the air passing thru the radiator keeps the temp down, but at idle not so much. Or depending whether you have a belt drive or electric fan. Belt driven, could need a new belt.

Motor shuts down when reaching normal operation temp

Sounds like the mass air flow sensor or the air intake temperature sensor. Sometimes just wiping out the throttle body/air intake can make all the difference

After my 94 plymouth voyager 3.0L gets to runnig temp it misfires and stalls once in gear.It runs fine when its cold. I did a tune-up and still have the same problem

Have fuel pressure checked when it starts to misfire/stall and driving down the road at normal speeds.
Not unusual for fuel pump to run at proper pressure when cool, but lose pressure when warmed up. If it's only running bad when off accelerator and stopping or turning and runs down the highway good, remove and clean AIS/IAC motor. ( idle speed motor ) Once cleaned, if it runs better for a while then starts to act up again, replace it.

Stalls out

lisalavin,

You said,

My 1990 Buick century stalls out when in park after idling for a minute or two and stalls out when brake is applied. last night it did this every time I had to stop or make a slow turn it also started shaking a bit but if i released gas a little bit it would stop. i thought the shaking might be the cvu joint as it needs to be replaced but it started doing it on straight aways and hills also but would still stop shaking if gas was eased up on. Closer to home when it was stalling the only way I could get it to stay running while I put it in drive was to have one foot on the brake and the other on the gas. Is this a matter of changing the fuel filter or is it something more complicated?

It can be one of many things causing this!
1. Low idle, needs to be raised
2. A vacuum leak, needs to be diagnosed.
3 The choke, if it's when it's cold or the engine is cold and not up to running temp.

4.But, I'll l bet it's a idle sensor

Or last and probably NOT a broken baffle in the cat converter!
this usually happens more often not just with the stop but even when driving!

Bless you,
huuum
