Hi if its a Dlp it will be an issue with the dmd This is how the dmd works:http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/dlp... Basically the dmd is a chip that carries 2 million pixels that create the image and colors .When its bad it will cause pixilation, color discoloration or stripes. If its an Lcd it seems you are experimenting a light engine problem. This is how your tv works:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLLHnQ4y-... So basically the 3 Lcd chips that create the colors and image is going bad and thats why you get that color discoloration.Contact Mitsu or look for your light engine online.God bless you and your house!

My phillips 2006 hd tv has a black line across the screen with a snowy freeze

If you have parallel horizontal black lines on a white background, you can see the separation between the lines when it is viewed at close range (Figure 1). As you view the lines from further and further away, the image gets smaller, you eventually get to the point where you can no longer see the separation between the lines, and it looks like one line. Losing the ability to see separation in the lines is exactly what happens when you sit too far back from an HDTV set. If we apply the same principle to an HDTV, a 1080p resolution HDTV has to fit 1920 vertical and 1080 and horizontal black lines separated by the white space on the screen, (that is the pixel grid of a 1080p HDTV display). Furthermore the spaces between each cell of the grid need to be very small in relation to the area each cell occupies, or you will get a screen door type effect. A bigger HDTV can increase the size of the cells and the separation between the cells, so everything doesn't run together when you sit further back.

Horizontal Lines in Picture, Picture Possibly Dimmer

The dimming is usually caused by the mirror needing polishing. The lines floating across the screen is usually caused by failed caps on the FMT board you can get the V26 FMT repair kit from

Contact your local service rep as this sounds like a "not so easy fix' related to the main board or power supply (known issues with Mits boards, especially the capacitors). Cleaning, resetting, re-configuring will not likely make any difference. Verify the problem occurs across all input modes (such as DVD, etc). before taking any service actions.

Horizontal lines on TV are bouncing across screen and will disappear after TV warms up (sometimes). Please help!

It's caps most likely and one of the more common that fail is C2p08 100mfd/16v in the 5v line. But there are undoubtedly others and you'll probably need to shop it to get them all...
A tech will use an ESR meter to test the caps, testing for their equivilent series resistance. Too high or open caps need to be replaced.
Caps are not that expensive so the parts cost will be minimal. But it is labor intensive to go through each circuit and find the failed ones...
Mits are some great Tv's though and worth the repair.
