Frigidaire 24" single oven model fgb24l2asa

Sometimes but hardly always oven ignites and gas comes on but it almost gets up to temp and then shuts off. Most of the time, ignitor comes on and glows but no gas and it doens't turn on. I'm thinking the ignitor switch but could it be the safety valve or regulator? Help!

My oven just started to do this. I thought I was baking something until I went back 45 minutes later & the oven was still cool. I pressed different buttons, it ignited & began warming immediately. When I went back the next day no ignition again.

I have the same problem. The ignighter glows, but no gas...I tapped on the saftey valve and suddenly it lit. i'm guessing it's the saftey valve being that it is an electrical part.

SOURCE: Frigidaire Gas Oven

The igniter needs to be replaced. I had the exact same thing happen to my oven. The igniter would glow, but after tested, it did not have enough amperage to actually ignite the gas, so the gas kept running with no ignition. You can get a replacement at an appliance parts store. If you have a friend or relative who is a heating/air conditioning repairperson they can test your current igniter. Good luck!

Frigidarie stove model#PLGFZ390ECB burners and broiler works oven dont replace iginitor still do not work.

Good Afternoon Cheryl,

I understand that the burners and broiler are working in your Frigidaire range, model# PLGFZ390ECB, but the bake element does not work. I also see that you have replaced the igniter and it is still not working. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your appliance and determine why your oven will not come on. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Long preheat & strong gas order. Sometimes the oven will heat up & sometimes it wont. The broiler does not heat up at all.

The problem is usually the igniter not reaching the correct amp draw .When the igniter does not reach the correct amp draw it may allow the gas valve to partially open or not open at all. The igniters are inexpensive and easy to replace. This video will walk you thru the correct procedure for testing an oven igniter. It may be a different model but the testing will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. Not all models are available. All parts come with installation instructions.

Our Frigidaire 24 in wall oven won't light. The igniter glows but there appears to not be any gas present.

The ignitor is weak and needs to be replaced. You can not tell by looking at it. You have to measure the amp draw through the ignitor.
