Question about Epson Office Equipment & Supplies
I've got a problem printing from windows xp (lenovo thinkpad T61) to an epson SX600FW printer on wireless (linksys wrt300 router): printer is given as available and ready by every control application, the printer is pingable at the mentioned address, IP addresses match if you ask the printer or the PC. The print job begins and the print control dialog opens but it shows 0/0 pages printing and after a few seconds an os message says: this printjob failed. I reinstalled the epson software a few times, to no avail. tried to configure the network manually, no success. I have got another PC on Win Vista and it's got no problems. To complicate matters even further, it was working before! Grrrrr ...... I saw a similar problem being discussed and the suggested solution was to download drivers from epson itself. I tried but no drivers for SX600FW were listed... double grrrr.
Can anyone help with this? It would be so greatly appreciated.
I found the drivers here http://esupport.epson-europe.com/ProductHome.aspx?lng=en-GB&data=YZnBT5wk60ZmILDgc0l2mWFqmUwUuuiDU3Jcc3hmOSQU003D&tc=6
You sound as though you are quite familiar with computers. As such, you are probably aware that the print drivers for each operating system are different. If this printer is shared from a Vista box, the only way you will print to it from a WXP box is if the print server is correctly configured and the xp box has its own drivers installed.
You say that the IP addresses match. Did you check the subnet mask. Lets say your computer has ip address 192.168.1.10 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. That means the printer will need an ip address of 192.168.1.? I usually use 150 in this final octet. Also, the subnet mask must be the same as the subnet mask used by the computer. You can determine you computer's subnet mask from a command prompt by typing "ipconfig /all" Good luck. If you need some help, just give me a call at 864-332-4972 x8003. Steve
