Sandisk sansa shaker mp3

Only had for one month - never dropped or misused, from time i opened it from package it only plays for about 45 min before battery died. then one time i turned it off and now it will turn on for one second and turns back off as if the battery is dead which i know is not the case because i have put several new batteries in it to rule that out.

First, format the card.

Second, I get 10 hours from ONE AAA battery as long as I don't ever touch the volume control.

Third, I don't ever plug headphones in (too bassy), I put the neck cord on and slip it into my pocket, reminds me of the days of transistor radios, and unless someone is right in my face, they don't hear what I'm listening to...and even in a library, all ppl hear is like a mosquito from more than 4 feet away.

If it isn't loud enough, go get the freeware MP3Gain and crank up all of your mp3's on the card, and you'll have 10 hours to enjoy.

Oh, I use cheap batteries, I don't use rechargeables, duracells or energizers, just cheap alkalines from the grocery store.

Hope this helps!

OH, I forgot, I also turn on the lock on the card before putting it into my shaker. Apologies for not adding this, it is a habit to me to do the lock after I put songs on it.

I had the same problem. if you go to the website and call them they will walk you through what to do on your computer. I had to set my window media player to "mp3" and re load all of the songs. I haven't put them on the sansa yet again so I don't know if it worked, but on the phone they were very helpful. A lot of people I have talked to are having the same problem with the shaker.

THE SONGS I SYNCED WILL NOT PLAY ON MY SHAKER.

The Sansa Shaker supports only .mp3 and .wav file formats. It is possible that you have synced WMA or M4A audio files that have DRM protection. These formats are not supported by the SANSA SHAKER.
Songs purchased through Amazon or copied from your music collection in mp3 format will play on your SHAKER.

Replaced SD card now Shaker won't play

Hi Cathi!

Few things you need to know about Sansa Shaker and the SD card:
  1. The Sansa Shaker DOES NOT support SDHC memory cards. Only regular SD cards are supported.
  2. Maximum capacity for supported SD cards - 2GB!
  3. Any SD card which doesn't meet the requirement above might cause the problem you encounter. REPLACE the card with a supported one - SD card with up to 2GB in capacity.
  4. No software/data is stored or needed to be on the memory card - apart from your music files.
  5. MP3 file type is fully supported by Sansa Shaker.
Regards,
Pelu.

Hi my sansa shaker wont play music

The Sansa Shaker ONLY plays MP3's, I downloaded a bunch of .wma files and kept getting the uh-oh so I put on an mp3 I had a voila! it played. Bummer though. Guess I gotta figure out how to convert my music files for my daughter, or pitch this thing and buy one that will play any media file.

Music will not play on my sansa shaker

Did you copy your own CD's to the computer? The default settings for Windows Media Player "RIP Music" are to rip as WMA format. The music needs to be in mp3 format. Change your settings in Windows Media Player. Tools>Options>RIP Settings. Select mp3, under the drop down menu. Best of Luck.

Sansa Shaker

You should not use a program to manage your music on the Sansa Shaker. Just use My Computer to manually drag & drop files onto the device. Also, you can format the device thru My Computer, right click on the device and select format, this will erase everything on the device. Best of Luck
