Mine did that. Cleaned the filter which I admit was pretty dirty and also cleaned my electronic air filter. Reset by powering off and on and viola. Heat.

SOURCE: Carrier 58 Series Furnace Blower Motor Won't Shut Off

Yes. If the high limit is tripped, the furnace will bring on the fan continuously until the limit resets. Often, they will not reset if tripped repeatedly. If the furnace is too large for your application, you probably are not able to move enough air to keep the heat exchanger cool enough.

SOURCE: carrier super saver furnace keeps going on and off

Sounds like the flame sensor is dirty or bad. This sits in the burner flame when the burners are running. This usually has a single white wire connected to the back of it.

If it works with blower door off sounds like it's not getting enough return. What's the statics? Try an adjustable limit, I think they go to 210. Good Luck!!

I have a Carrier model # 58MXA080-F-15112. I think my furnace is 30 plus years old. it isn't heating properly. The blower turns on and sometimes the flames come on, but sometimes they don't. As...

A 13 code means the furnace cycled on limit more than three times consecutively and is in a lockout for 3 hours. A 14 is ignition lockout. An ignitor does not intermittently quit working. I'm the service mgr at our shop, and I know that particular furnace model has a service bulletin out on bad secondary heat exchangers. If your lucky the filter is dirty, or the furnace condensate trap or drain is clogged. Most likely the secondary heat exchanger is plugged up and isn't allowing the pressure switch to make. Or the furnace is overheating due to it not being able to properly vent hot gas. Which would explain the high limit lockouts. Call an authorized carrier dealer so you can take advantage of the free heat exchangers and the $300 labor credit. You can also call an authorized Bryant dealer to perform the work for you. Only an authorized dealer can rectify this problem because the Bryant corp requires testing and paperwork in order to get your free parts and labor credit.
Good luck.

My carrier 58sta furncace is blowing cold air constantly

Code 33 is "limit is open or flame switch is open"
FIRST make sure the filter is clean. Turn off unit then turn back on.
if it works but then later gives you a 33 code then you might have a dirty a/c coil (if you have a/c) that will cause the limit to open. 1st try that

Miller furnace model M3RL080 BW, code flashes open limit switch or external load on W, I bought a new limit switch, the furnace runs for 5-10 minutes then the flame goes out, the blower keeps running and...

Check your furnace filter any Limit fault code usually relates to airflow...Not enough...causes the furnace to run too hot and shut off....the furnace can be too big for your house if its new...the ductwork can be too small , also make sure your return air vents are clean and unobstructed . Your furnace can be running too long a cycle ....also if you have central air conditioning the coil for the AC in the Furnace can be dirty...restricting airflow...if all this seems ok you can usually increase the fan speed or try tunning the fan in the "On" position on your thermostat this will promote better circulation

Code #33 on Bryant 355MAV 90i Furnace

'Limit or flame rollout switch is open'. In my case, the flame rollout switch had tripped due to an overheating? I had to push the button between the wire leads to reset the switch. Then when I turned the power back on, the furnace started up like normal.

Why did the switch overheat and trip? My current theory is that there was a rubber grommet around a pipe near the switch that had slid down and was no longer sealing the furnace?

code 32=Low heat pressure switch or relay didn't close or reopened
code 33=limit circuit fault(Flame rollout switch is open)
