Either the clutch needs replacing or the cable needs adjusting.
First thing is to try and adjust it if possible.
Get someone to press and release the clutch pedal while you are looking in the engine compartment and see if you can locate the actuation mechanism. You should see the clutch lever being moved back and forth. Once located and you see which way everything moves, get the person to stop pressing the pedal. On the cable that moves the lever should be 2 nuts (one of which is a locking nut that prevents the the one nearest the lever from moving). Loose of the locking nut off and start tightening the other one up. The person in the car may see the pedal start rising up. Tighten up and try the clutch again. Keep adjusting until it feels okay whilst driving. Finally tighten the lock nut down to the adjusting nut to prevent it from loosening off over time. If there is not enough adjustment possible it may require a new cable.
There should be metal shoes on the side of the snowblower. They have adjustment bolts that allow the auger housing to move up and down. loosen them and adjust to how close you want it to the ground. It also depends on the model. This process only applies to large self propelled models which are a two stage snowthrower. if its a small single stage there is usually no adjustment.
You need to tighten the coarse adjustment so it generates enough friction to keep the stage in place. How to tighten it will vary from scope to scope, but most just have the screws on the knob (metal circle inside the knob with two holes in it). To adjust this type, you'll need a special key wrench.
Im not sure what engine you have but adjusting the rocker arms is generally the same w/ V8 or V6.You will not need a tork wrench.You'll need a 3/8 socket wrench w/ 5/8 socket for the rckr arm nut and 1/2" socket wrench(big long wrench) w/ the socket that will fit the crank pulley bolt to manually turn the engine.Start w/the timing mark on the balancer lined up w/ 0 on the timing tab.With all of the pushrods in place and the rckr arms loosely in place put the adjusting nuts on the studs by hand just a couple turns.Your only going to adjust the rckrs w/pushrod that are the furthest down.The #1piston should be at top dead center and the #1 intake and exhaust pushrods should be both equal distance up.Adjust all rckr arms that are this far down.Rotate the engine 180 degrees(1 turn)to line the timing mark again and adjust the rest of the rcker arm nuts that werent adjusted.TIP:When youre turning the engine by hand you'll see some pushrods/rockers start to move down.when they stop moving down this is the place where they should be for adjusting and thats usually when the timing mark lines up.Now to adjust grab the pushrod you are adjusting w/thumb and index finger so you can spin and move it up and down.With 5/8 wrench in other hand start to tighten rckr nut to just where you cannot freely spin or move up and down the push rod(zero lash).Then for final adjustment tighten the rckr nut 1/2 turn.Do this to only the pushrods that are all the way down,turn the engine once and adjust the remaining rckr nuts
Try holding the Right knob so it does not move, whilst firmly moving the Left knob towards you (clockwise), this is the adjusting method used on Zeiss Jena 1960's High End microscopes, e.g Eduaval & Ergaval.
I think your problem lies in the way the stage is limited upwards. On top of the stage, right behind it where it slides against the arm, there should be a little screw. This screw limits the movement of the stage to a certain point upwards. If the limit exceeds the adjustment gear and its opposing track, then the stage just goes up one notch and then it clunks down. If you screw it down the stage is limited further down, if you screw it up it's limited a bit higher. The point of this screw is to prevent objective and slide damage. Try adjusting this little screw a bit further down and see if it still 'clunks' when you turn it up. After that we may work on properly adjusting it.
