Well I never have had an issue with the Hard Drive on this model and the manual doesnt go into great detail about it. It just states to reseat all the cables check and if it doesnt resolve replace. The Hard drive can be found in the rear of the machine behind the panel with the thumb screws. If you do try reseating just make sure you have it unplugged. Im not sure if it will power up without it but that would be another option to pull it and try powering it up. Or perform an NVRAM reset which would reinitiailize the machine. If you can print a config page before hand becuase it will hold vital information after the reset has been performed.

Check and reseat hard drive cables. Replace hard drive with new, if necessary.

Hard Drive Part Number is: 121K39240

You can also contact a local Xerox Authorized Service Partner to see if they will sell you the part.

If still not resolved, please get a local tech for physical examination.

Note - Both Hard Disc Could be Bad at the Same Time.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

That is a process motor failure, replace the process motor camshaft kit, part number WCC2424-Z2. The printhead is unable to tilt.

Xerox workcentre c2424 error code

One of two things most likely.
1. The wiper blade is stuck to the print head,or 2, The print head blosk has a lot of spill over ink built up in it.
That code is caused by the inability of the print head to move properly. Either left to right or pivot front to back to get into the print position.
You have to remove the covers to access the stainless steel print block. It is located about 2/3 of the way back on the lower left side of the frame. It is a one inch by one inch square block that may have a lot of buildup of spill over ink in it. If the wiper is stuck you have to remove the ink loader , where you add the ink sticks , to access the area between the print head and drum, It is a pink blade the is between the drum and print head, it wold be stuck to the print head not allowing it to move. Just carefully unstick it from the print head

What model printer is this? The C2424 does not have a laser.
Are you 100 percent sure it is a model C2424?
There is no LSU status code for that machine.

Could be a dirty scanner. Not much to check, it is a lamp issue.
You can try disconnecting the cables to the document feeder and scanner. The one on the right side of the machine, where the power cord, thats is odd to access and tighten often works loose.
Here is the entire documentation troubleshooting procedure, this is from the service manual.

Step Questions and Actions Yes No
1 1.
Cycle power to the system to clear.
2. Did the error recur?

2 1.
