Re: satellite battery problems

It could be motherboard problem, since you already try new battery.

What is the life of my satellite l30-101 battery off the ac charger

Toshiba's line of Satellite PC laptops offers a variety of screen s that are customizable when ordered online. The laptops offer built-in webcams and backlit keyboards. Most Toshiba Satellite laptops use six-cell lithium-ion batteries that can last up to six hours. To reach that six-hour mark, you can use several tricks to maximize your battery's capacity.

Charge your battery completely before its first use. Check your user manual for the exact charging time required, which is typically at least 12 hours. Discharge your battery completely every two months. Allow it to drain fully before recharging it. Recharge it completely, for at least 12 hours before using it again. Remove CDs and DVDs from your laptop's drive when not in use. These drives spin when loaded, which can drain your battery unnecessarily. Set your laptop to hibernate mode when you need to take a break. This conserves more power than standby. Store your laptop battery in a cool place. Never let the battery sit in direct sunlight or leave it in your car on a hot day. For even longer battery life, remove the battery from the laptop which can get hot while in use when you are plugged in. Turn off your Wi-Fi connection when not in use. Constantly searching for a Wi-Fi connection can drain your battery faster. Work in only one program at a time. The more programs you have open, the faster your battery will drain. Unplug any USB devices, especially those that charge when plugged in, such as your cellphone. These will drain your battery quickly. Dim your Satellite's screen to conserve battery. Hold down your "Fn" key and tap "F6" several times to dim the screen. The "F6" key should show an open circle with small lines radiating out, to symbolize a dim display.

I need to know how to use my new laptop battery correctly.

The first time you charge the battery allow 12 to 16 hours, after that 2 to 4 hours or when battery is charged. If you go on battery frequently drain it right down before charging it, this will give the maxi-um performance and longevity.

Battery will not charge

Either the charger or the battery is bad. Note that batteries are only good for 2 or 3 years before requiring replacement.

If the computer won't work with the battery charger and a minimally charged battery, and it's left on charge for 24 hours with no good power results, try another battery.

Will the m350 boot if the battery is defective? That is will it run on ac power only? Without the battery nothing happens, install the battery and it will start for about 3 seconds and the go dead

This happens when the battery is completely Flat.. In order for it to charge up it needs to be left alone to charge for at least 8 hours.. It is also possible that the battery has become so flat that it simply cannot be recharged via the adapter. In which case you will need a new battery, you would know after 8 hours...

My TOSHIBA MINI NB205-n313/9 10.1 inch net book will not turn on

The laptop is not turning on?

Remove the battery and try boot the machine on AC power only. If the computer starts up turn it back off, reinsert the battery and try to boot the computer again.
If it still won't boot with the battery inserted then i suggest you send or take the computer back as there is a hardware problem.

Toshiba Satellite a205 Battery Will Not Charge

You did what all should not have been done. your battery works as a buffer between high surge of electricity which comes through electrical supply i.e. it protects your smps from burning up. From your current position it seems your smps fuse has blown. If they have given one or else your smps itself has gone. I'll tell you for your future usage of battery. Whenever you get any electronic equipment with chargable battery you should never switch it on unless and untill you have charged it for continuous 24 hours. Never try to run such equipment directly through dc or ac power. Hope your fuse has gone its not costly.

Toshiba satellite A45-S2501 keeps turning off after about an hour

Try this out....
Take out the Battery from the laptop, disconnect the power cable.... Press the power button for 10-15 sec's, and then plug in the battery, do not start the laptop, and charge the battery to the fullest.
Even if that doesn't work then u will have to check the battery as well as ur Adapter.

thank you,

Toshiba satellite m35 power issues

Hi !
While power off, disconnect the power adaptor.
Take off battery.

Plug the power adaptor back and try to start !
Is it running?

If yes, than the power adaptor is OK.

Now shut down and disconnect the power adaptor.
Put back your battery and start!
Leave it untill you 'empty' the battery.
Do not start your laptop.

Plug the power adaptor and do not start your laptop yet.
Is there a led idicator showing that the battery is charging ?
Does it shows when the battery is full charged (e.g. red/yellow=charging, to green/off charged)?
If not, leave it for at least 3 hours. After that, start your laptop (adaptor is plugged) and see if you still have an icon saying charging 99%.

If that is the case, then something is wrong with the battery.

Check your warranty, and replace it.
DO NOT OPEN the battery - nothing interesting you will find inside - nothing you can do !
