I also am having problems with the battery taking a charge. Is this a warranty issue? Will buying a new battery fix the problem?

Same problem, and its intermittent sometimes. I can have it running fine for hours/days, then it will start beeping and the charge light is off. I will pull the battery out (while the AC cord is still connected) and its shuts off completely. I have a new battery and its doing the same thing, and I just had the motherboard newly replaced a couple of months ago.

I also have a Aspire Acer 3680 with pretty much the same problem. I bought new battery and new ac adapter the machine was intermittently chargeing before it shut down and will not start now? When it was under warranty I sent it to acer to have the problem fixed it worked for a while then started all over again . It is no longer under warranty even though it is the same issue. Any ideas on what is causing this? and a fix??

It could be motherboard problem, since you already try new battery.

I have a nextbook 7 or 8 tablet. it no longer charges in any way, and it gets extremely warm when connected to a charger no mattet how short a time it is plugged in for.

Lithium ION batteries are usually rechargeable. The use mode for these batteries is that there are a set number of recharges that equate to the life of the battery. Usually that life is approximately 1,000 charges.
If you use your battery to 50% then recharge, you can do this ~2,000 times. As the life of the battery is used up, the maximum charge lessens which means where you may have had 8 hours of play time when the battery was new, you will only have 6 hours as the battery life is used up.
In order for a Lithium ION battery to recharge there must be at least a small amount of charge left as a "seed" for that recharge. If you drain a L-ION battery down to zero, it may never recharge again or the max charge will be reduced to an insignificant amount of the original full charge. eg instead of 8 hours you may only get 15 minutes, or 5 minutes, or no minutes.
You are much better off recharging when 50% depleted than using it up til your product stops.
L-ION batteries cannot be repaired only replaced. Most cheap products using L-ION batteries cannot have their batteries replaced.

I need to know how to use my new laptop battery correctly.

The first time you charge the battery allow 12 to 16 hours, after that 2 to 4 hours or when battery is charged. If you go on battery frequently drain it right down before charging it, this will give the maxi-um performance and longevity.

Hi there.I ve got this strange problem with my satelite Toshiba A200 1AB laptop.the problem is with the battery actually it wont charge when I plug in the charger with battery in it.But when I extract the...

Is the AC Power adapter the original adapter of the laptop? If it is, try to drain the battery and charge it for 8-12 hours without using or opening the laptop just charge it. After charging, remove the power adapter as you open your laptop. Make this way a habbit of using and charging your laptop to make the charging and battery life last long.

My TOSHIBA MINI NB205-n313/9 10.1 inch net book will not turn on

Hi,
The laptop is not turning on?

Remove the battery and try boot the machine on AC power only. If the computer starts up turn it back off, reinsert the battery and try to boot the computer again.
If it still won't boot with the battery inserted then i suggest you send or take the computer back as there is a hardware problem.

Regards.

Toshiba Satellite a205 Battery Will Not Charge

You did what all should not have been done. your battery works as a buffer between high surge of electricity which comes through electrical supply i.e. it protects your smps from burning up. From your current position it seems your smps fuse has blown. If they have given one or else your smps itself has gone. I'll tell you for your future usage of battery. Whenever you get any electronic equipment with chargable battery you should never switch it on unless and untill you have charged it for continuous 24 hours. Never try to run such equipment directly through dc or ac power. Hope your fuse has gone its not costly.
