Error message on a Ricoh 2000 SC441. What does this mean? Just before the message I had a paper jam. Could there be a small piece of paper stuck? I have blown it out with compressed air, but still get the error message. Also, I have used generic refill toner in the past. Does this hurt my printer and could it have caused the problem?

Did you just replace your color PCUs (photoconductor units)? If so, one of the new units may be defective. Try reinstalling the old units to see if the problem goes away (after resetting the machine). If it does, you can replace the PCUs one by one to see which one is bad.
If you still get the sc441 even with the old PCUs (or if you don't have them anymore) install a set of new PCUs and that should fix the problem. On the off chance the problem doesn't go away even with new PCUs, contact your local service company because you may have a bad circuit board, motor, or gear.
sc441 is a drum motor error. It could be caused by anything from a faulty circuit board to a bad motor, but the most likely fix (and the easiest) is to replace the color PCUs (photoconductor units) which I believe all come as one set.
Turn the machine off and unplug it from the wall, then install the new PCUs, plug it back in and turn it on. There's a good chance your printer will work fine. If the sc441 error comes back, you should contact your local service company and have them take a look at it, because the problem is either electrical or mechanical.
