Question about Computers & Internet
I am not a tech guy so i hope this makes sense. i started up my mac book and the apple appears then the spinning wheel and then it goes black with the cursor in the top left hand corner. i would think this is a bad thing.
Take your Mac OS disk (leopard or tiger, etc) and restart your mac with the disk in the drive. As soon as you hear the famous mac chime, press and hold the C key until it launches the OS on your Mac OS disk you inserted.
Once you get to the install screen, DON'T INSTALL OR DEINSTALL. Rather look at the top menu and launch the disk utilities application that you'll find in the list in the menu. Run a verify and repair disk, and then repair the permission as well.
Then do a restart. You should be back up.

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
